Yeah, my stupid ass church at the time had a whole service about Pokmon being demonic. Of course my mom bought into it, and I had to get rid of all my Pokmon stuff. It really sucked, and I'm still upset today that I never got to play Pokmon R/B/Y with other kids at recess.

My aunt thought Harry Potter was Satanic witchcraft, up until the movies came out.

No but my mom and the parent of my best friend did think it was a bad influence.

But the ex fiance of the other parent I mentioned though MTG was Satanic witchcraft. And no he wasn't being prophetic about a Georgia congresswoman, he probably supports her.

My best friend grew up in a very Christian household, and he was the one who introduced me to Pokmon/Yugioh/etc.

Nah. Thankfully both my immediate family and the church we regularly went to had common sense about this one.

To be honest my parents was pretty lax when it came to my brother and me. Like we could watch whatever R rated horror movie or play any video game for example, but they always said if we got nightmares about it then tough titty we ain't sleeping on the foot of their bed if we got scared, lol.

My friend's Christian parents wouldn't let him play the series as a kid so out of our high school friend's group he was never exposed to it until he borrowed our games. They weren't that way with his little brother and let him play the series.

And I remember the Pope officially endorsing Pokmon. So I assume it was an extremist protestant thing.

Not directly, but I had a friend who would come over to my house to secretly play my games because his mother wouldn't allow them due to Satan. I never let him reset my files, but I did let him take over a couple of PC boxes for his own use.

I remember that kid loved catching Zubats.

My parents gave a it a little bit of a side-eye, but they never did anything about it.

I didn't grow up in a super religious household, so nobody seemed to care.

I think I heard people had big problems with it because of "evolution" but not until I was in like, high school and could go "but that's not even how real evolution works" and still be confused.
