Consider no sugar added uncured bacon (pork). I got some at Wegman's, and it was really good and had better stats. Not especially expensive, either (can't recall price).

Debatable, but not really. It's a highly processed food loaded with sodium, and the calorie and fat content is really only marginally better.

I'll pick it up at Costco occasionally. Not bad, texture seems chewier than beef jerky, IMO. My Costco always seems to have a "terriyaki" flavor. I'd like to try it peppered some time.

On topic, turkey bacon's ok. You do get to skip all that cholesterol in the pork, but in the comparisons I've done, the sodium and other shit is pretty comparable so I'm not sure how much better it is. I do turkey bacon about 70% of the time though.
