Lamar's verse references Drake and J. Cole's collaboration "First Person Shooter," Drake's last album, For All The Dogs, and compares himself to Prince to Drake's Michael Jackson. Drake and J. Cole linked for the Billboard Hot 100 chart-topper "First Person Shooter" on 2023's For All the Dogs, where the Dreamville head rapped, "Love when they argue the hardest MC/Is it K-Dot? Is it Aubrey? Or me?/We the big three like we started a league, but right now, I feel like Muhammad Ali." Drake preferred to pretend Kendrick doesn't exist with his line, "Who the GOAT? Who you bitches really rooting for?/Like a kid that act bad from January to November, *****, it's just you and Cole." Drake also referenced Michael Jackson on the song rapping, "What the fuck, bro? I'm one away from Michael/*****, beat it, *****, beat it, what?"

Lupe Fiasco is my favorite rapper of all time. Kendrick is amazing too.

Cole and drake cannot touch kenny on their best day. Kendrick doesn't even use all of his ability, he for example can do wordplay with the absolute best of them but usually goes for something more literal. Just that last part of the verse where he mentions the K and 9 is Eminem level and he barely does that.

Its not a competition. Cole is good, great even but he ain't never making SAMIDOT how much a dollar cost

Kendrick's diss was very direct though. He name dropped First Person Shooter, which was the song that Drake dissed Kendrick in. He named dropped the album that song was on. He referenced the "big 3" line that J. Cole used in that song (in which Drake said, there's no big 3, it's just me and Cole). And he said Drake's real name, Aubrey.

Just because he didn't spell it out for you by literally saying "Fuck Drake" doesn't mean it was sneaky. His diss came in loud and clear.

Did you think Eminem's diss, Killshot, was sneaky because he didn't say "Fuck Machine Gun Kelly" at all in his diss? Like, that's not usually how disses go lol.
