Its actually pretty damn crazy. I was having trouble moving my pokemon from Crystal to Home and then realized after watching a video that you need to have the physical copy of a Pokemon game that can use Pokemon Bank to actually use Pokemon Transporter.

So you need 3 apps. Pokemon Transporter, Pokemon Bank, and Pokemon Home. In order to use Pokemon Transporter to move stuff to bank, you need a physical copy that's X/Y and onward I think?(Includes Omega Ruby) and you need to have the pokedex unlocked. I sat here trying and couldn't find the exact details ANYWHERE about using the physical copy just to move from Transporter to Bank.

Then you go to Bank and they don't even bring you to the transporter box so you might not even see it lol.

Then after doing all that, you have to go to Pokemon Home to get the moving code and then you can finally move them.

Its crazy how there's no built in instructions anywhere and websites seem to gloss over the 'physical copy' part because I kept thinking that it was asking me to move my pokemon from Omega Ruby to Bank and not that its needed for Crystal.

I wonder if they'll ever fix it or just ignore it because...let's face it, the games are moving away from the 3DS and all the newer titles can move straight to home...

and that's it for my little rant....where I spent a good hour trying to remember how to move Pokemon from VC games to Home....since I apparently forgot about the physical game and couldn't find my Pokemon Moon which was the only game I had a pokedex in(I hadn't started any of the other games I bought so I had to play a little of Omega Ruby just to move it.)

And then after getting mY Celebi from Crystal...I realized I had one already from Pokemon Go...lmao

Yeah, getting Pokmon from the GBA games to Pokmon Home is a trip too. They made everything so convoluted for sure.

I can't believe they never made a pokemon stadium for switch.

Which unless you have a non-Go Celebi in your gen 8/9 games, you wouldn't be able to put your Go Celebi in those games. So honestly that's a good thing to bring your Crystal Celebi over.

Oh? I wasn't aware of that. Thanks. I wanted to use Celebi and my Mew in the later editions. I got Mew from Let's Go Pikachu's pokeball controller.

Yeah, I feel like people would spend a lot of money on it, especially if it had mini games and such. But perhaps its also a little useless since its so easy to play against other players and there's the whole 3D aspect that made it unique in the first place.

I remember playing Blue with the attachment on my N64. I didn't have a GB or GBC and that was the only way to play it since my friend gave me his copy of Blue since he had Red.

You don't need a physical copy of a gen 6/7 game. Digital versions also work too if you downloaded them while the 3DS e-shop was up or if you mod your 3DS and install one that way. I don't have any physical 3DS games at all anymore, and I've been able to move my Pokemon just fine.

Yep, there's a special restriction on legendary/mythical Pokemon caught in Pokemon Go. You can't transfer them from Home to a mainline game that Home connects to unless that game has previously acquired that legendary/mythical in a different way that isn't transferring in one from Pokemon Go. So you'd either need to transfer in one that isn't from Go, have someone else trade you one in-game (even if you immediately trade it back), or catch one in that game if it's available to be caught. After you do one of those, then your one from Go will transfer in fine afterwards.

The Mew from the special controller connected to the Let's Go games doesn't have this restriction. It's not from Pokemon Go.

honestly its way easier to catch it on Pokemon Go than any other way so I can see why they'd do it that way. I'm glad I didn't opt out of getting Celebi on Crystal then.

Im not sure i realized this myself until now.. though i was never in a situation where this would be an issue, so thats definitely why.

Yeah it does sound a bit wonky.. though i guess its better than it was in the past? Like it used to be worse.

Atleast i recall there being some wonky minigames between gens 3 and 4, as well as 4->5, as well as some ugly restrictions for the Pokemon games that existed primarily just to store pokemon.

...part of me would like the abillity to buy a Pokemon home app (with more than one box), instead of the whole subscription shit.
