MCU is far more prevalent. This is the first new Star Wars content in a year I want to say while MCU starts filming a dozen projects in the next year.

It's a TV series set a few hundred years before the Phantom Menace during an era called the High Republic when the Sith were operating in the shadows and the Jedi were at the height of their power.

We don't know specifics on the plot, but I think a synopsis they dumped a while back said something like "A jedi and his apprentice investigate a gruesome crime spree and come face to face with dark forces"

Based on the trailer and cast list theres no white men playing a major role in this show, and considering this is a prequel and where the timeline ends up I think thats pretty funny.

We need to jump thousands of years into the future at this point

They just keep jamming stuff into the timeline and if its about new characters they either have to kill all of them or make up a stupid excuse why theyre never mentioned again

This is set hundreds of years before the films so they dont need to do shit.

Hundreds of years before, means they really don't have to worry too much.

Thats the good thing of going so far back. They can do pretty much whatever the hell they want, like with the Old Republic era set thousands of years before.

All we know is the Jedi won't be wiped out. Aside from that, things are fair game for storytelling.

Looks edgy. I don't expect it to be Andor good, but even above average television show I would accept as well. We'll see if the trailer is any good.

Some of those fight scenes felt like a kung fu movie.

Ok that looks even better than I expected! I'm loving that we're FINALLY getting different color lightsabers.

Story could be good but visually the show looks CW/Sci-Fi channel quality and that's incredibly disappointing after Andor.

It's possible. Yoda was mentioned in other High Republic stuff.

Hopefully you'll all get a chance to see what I've seen from High Republic. It's an incredible era.

Yoda is very present in the High Republic series. Even at the time of the HR books he is an aged Master of high regard. Acolyte takes place after the HR books.

I'd much prefer if they held him back and given the trailer doesn't even feature him, that's a good sign. For comparison, the books didn't have Yoda as an active character until the end of the first (of three) phases of books. He's sparsely used, which I think is a good idea.

So, in The Phantom Menace, Qui Gon was surprised to see someone with a dark force user trained in the Jedi arts, and Mace specifically mentions that the Sith were believed to be extinct for 1000 years. I wonder how they're gonna explain this villain character with the red saber if this is only a couple hundred years before TPM.

Ki-Adi-Mundi said the Sith were extinct, not Mace.

Also, there is no telling if the threats they are dealing with even are Sith. Sith could be behind things, pulling strings as Palpatine did. But these could just be regular dark Jedi.

Also remember that Jedi and Sith aren't the only factions of Force users. such as the witches of Dathomir. I hope they delve more into other factions we don't know about, which could be gone by the time of the saga.

Yeah, for the most part the CGI work in Andor wasn't even that great either, this show seems to be better in that department. What made Andor to be the best Star Wars show was the writing, characters, script, and world building. It was the first time we actually get to see why the Empire was a big problem in a socio-political kind of way, even down to how they destroy cultures and enslave people giving false hopes.

Obviously. But when Darth Maul revealed himself, Qui Gon immediately assumed he was Sith and said so to the council did he not? He didn't assume he was a dark Jedi or anything else. So I'm really curious about this villain like I said, and how the Jedi will handle the situation. Because he or she CANT be Sith.

Mundi is a top tier idiot and why Obi-Wan and Anakin were separated in the first place. I don't think anything he said should be trusted.

I don't even like Star Wars anymore and I thought it was neat although once again pointless because we already did this prequel shit before and the IP holders will never ever ever move the fuck on from that subject matter.
