It almost feels like a TV series that was meant to end at one series finale, but kept getting renewed for another season. Okami is a beautiful looking game, but I feel it should have ended after the second act when you defeat Ninetails. It just drags.

it's one of my favorite games, but it definitely feels like it has a lot of filler, IMO.

it has been a long time since I've played, but yea, after beating NT, the next act felt unnecessary.

I still love its ending, though.

I actually remember playing the game for the first time and not wanting it to end after the Ninetails arc, as I felt there was still a lot more that the game still had to offer.

The only thing I dread about playing through it again is that minigame where you have to memorize the order of the glowing spots on that wall dude, especially at the higher levels of it.

fucking snooze couldnt make it more than 1 hour

I tried replaying it years ago and found myself annoyed by text speech sound. Why it didn't bother me the first time I'll never know.

I thought the game was gonna end in the 1st arc tbh but it kept going! I didn't really mind tho tbh.

So I platinumed it twice on ps3.

The 3rd time around on PC I spent 60-70 hours trying to max out the thief's glove. So i was basically just drawing a line from Amatarasu to those floating scrolls over and over and over again. Pretty sure I watched some movies while doing it. But mainly just listened to my playlist and zoned out. Unfortunately i got bored of that eventually. I still have the save file for it so I could continue anytime

My thief's glove was doing very good damage by that point but not MAX damage. Was 1 shotting all the non-bosses. Still took 2 to 3 hits to kill some boss tier enemies like those 8 warrior dogs.

Also this grind is totally pointless since the thief's glove isn't available in the final boss iirc. Story related reason.

I reckon another 70 hours of grinding could 1 shot bosses but im too lazy to go for it now.

It is kinda weird how it basically has two fakeout endings, but I always loved the game. It's basically a 3D Zelda but you play as a cool dog in a really pretty world and the celestial brush is a really cool mechanic. And the speech noises don't bug me. They're no worse than Animal Crossing. I could imagine being bored by the beginning with its loads of cutscenes and exposition when you just wanna play though.

Those guys are tough. And some of the later ones (well one of them anyway) is required to move forward in the story, lol. I had to write down the patterns on a piece of paper.

I gave up on a very early boss. Is there a spider boss? If so, that one.

My favorite game of all time. Its beautiful.

Ive tried to get into it multiple times, but I just dont think ive ever had fun playing it. I WANT to like it, but it feels like the only thing it excels at is looking good.

Same, but I think I gave it three hours before giving up.

It was waaaaaay too easy and I think that was my biggest complaint. Combat was zzzzzzz

Yeah. Crazy that you're not even halfway through the game at that point. Maybe like 25 to 30% percent.

Oh, and fighting that boss three times (the one you put in spoiler tags) was terribly tedious.

It's such an amazing game. Only thing that holds it back from perfection is the dialog being over explanatory.

You pass a chest covered in fire then later you unlock the ability to move water. Instead of just saying "Hey you can probably use this power to put out that fire", Issun is like "Oh wow you have now unlocked the ability to move water. I wonder what you could use that for? I think I know. Do you remember that chest on fire earlier? Maybe you can use this power to put out that chest on fire? Water should extinguish the flame and allow you to open the chest and receive the item."

Goddamn Issun, I know water puts out fire. Just let me go do the thing!

The intro is so slow and long that I don't want to go through it just to replay the actual game

You can use vine to get past one of them. I think the oni island one. Also, this game is a masterpiece. It just has a couple of bad sections.

I remember really liking it, but the only reason I haven't played it again was that they haven't added a harder difficulty. I'm not even picky about that, but it was pathetically easy.

That, and the fact that there are three Orochi fights.

I loved that it kept going, and it ended strongly. God i love that game.

Okami is one of my favorite games of all time

it's got a set of plot arcs that could've made for 2, 3 games.

Like Everything up to Orochi 1 is basically a standard Zelda game. Then everything to Ninetails. The last third kinda is meh though

It's a strange thing looking back at N64/PS1/Early-PS2 adventure games, the run time seems so much longer than modern ones

Its like the 5th best Zelda game.
