Before hand Halo 1 released like a normal game with normal expectations

Then Halo 2 released like it was a college football rivalry game, with a cliffhanger ending

Then Halo 3 was releasing to multiple live action trailers, CG trailers, closed online betas, and it came out and it was amazing and made everyone happy surprisingly

The aftermath was so big, it was getting all sorts content creators and updates, they spawned like 2 more games in 2 years, a anime episode or 3 and cg animation shorts

That was around the time I first heard the term 'Triple A game' and it certainly fit the bill

I still remember that diorama commercial. I didnt even have a 360 but that shit was so hype. I played local multiplayer with my friends

Picked up Halo 3 at a midnight GameStop release, got home, played it for 15 hours straight until I beat it (solo on Heroic).

Halo 3, ODST, and Halo Reach had the best advertisements and ad campaigns.

Old Bungie was so good, I think the first time I saw complaints about them or the games was ODST being viewed as 60$ DLC, but even then the game was still popular for the right reasons

They were the good guys back then

Bungie decided to be stupid, and 343 is just not up to the task. It has been 14 years since there has been a good Halo game.

The promotional material was insane. There was a lot of it and almost all of it was extremely memorable and really hyped you up for the game.

Sure, the convenience of digital downloads is great but damn, look at how much fun these guys had

I think the last one I went to was Halo 5. Digital hadn't fully taken over yet so it still had a solid crowd. Some guy pulled up with the big Halo Reach statues of Noble Team and there was a guy dressed as Master Chief.

This still speaks to me. Still comes up in gaming convos with my friends.

I remember being in high school when Halo 3 came out. Went to the midnight launch of the game. Played it all night. My mom was a teacher at the school and in my first period in the afternoon in another class she made some excuse and pulled me out of class, knowing I was dog ass tired from playing all night lol. One of the coolest things she ever did.
