Nah, my launch controller got drift a few months ago. It was a launch one

Had PS5 for a year in June.

Had mine since launch and still works perfectly, though im not one of these gajillion hour button mashers with sweaty hands and Cheeto dust.

Yeah it's almost 3 years now. Not sure how much longer that left thumbstick has but it slightly drifts now whenever I play a fighting game. Might be the orientation I'm holding it though idk.

Buying my dads old ps5 over the rest of the year (payment plan because its easier... also he bought a new one the same way so..) but no im not using either of the 2 controllers he gave to me with it.

It's been around 2 and a half years and mine is still working fine. I had a PS4 for it's whole life cycle and must've went through several Dualshock 4's.

It works well enough for most things, but anything requiring precise aiming can get frustrating

Yes and it just recently started to drift on certain games. The cursor on Sims 4 will sometimes drift to the left and navigating the menu's on Tales of Symphonia is infuriating. Other than those two, it's fine though.

I've had mine just over two years.

I got a second controller at the same time, and I'm not sure which is which, but one of them has slight drift. Not enough to be a hindrance in most games, but if I'm doing a base builder style game like Dungeons or Evil Genius 2 where you have to "draw" straight lines to mark out rooms it sometimes goes a bit wibbly.

Yes, but I mostly play racing games so I only really use the Playstation controller to turn it on until I can switch to the wheel.

I got a bundle with two controllers from Costco at launch, and they both broke within six months and I had to send them in for repair(/replacement?)

Yeah mine did too, I tried to fix it but was impossible. I watched a video and some people were saying the technology sony uses is ass and that some magnet thing would eliminate stick drift.

Not usually. There is nothing wrong with it though. I had bought the spider-man 2 dualsense and this one feels like it has a more clicky d-pad if that makes any sense and the L and R triggers feel better. (If I remember right they started using better trigger parts in these second revision dualsense controllers, which the spider-man 2 one is a part of this group).

I did end up getting another dualshock 4 though......the black one that came with my PS4 pro still works fine and is the controller I normally use when I play stuff on my PC, but I bought one of those second version clear dualshock 4s (the ones with the little light bar on the touch pad and can communicate with the PS4 or PS5 via USB if you enable that in the options) and that ended up getting stick drift so bad I could barely move in the PS4 version of dead rising 1 and deacon kept skipping in days gone.

The central button on mine started sticking after about 3 months.

Shortest amount of time before replacing a controller on any console for me.

My launch one died shortly after the release of GT7 when it would randomly go full left on the left stick at random. It was something different than drift, because it would go from no drift to as if I was holding fully to the left on the stick for a few solid seconds before it returned to normal.

I had another white PS5 controller I bought shortly after the original release as a second controller that I stopped using because the battery was pretty much shot.

I have 3 current ones I cycle through, Black, Red, and Purple. They all work fine still.

Still use both my original controllers. Got my PS5 on launch day.

I did have a trigger spring break in one of them, but I replaced it with a more durable Dualshock 4 spring and it's been gravy ever since.

nope. i bought an extra at launch. one of the got drift, the other's battery lasts an hour. now i'm using a scuf that i bought for it. i think i'm done buying official replacements.

Used it for a while but then bought a black controller. That one ended up getting a bad drift problem so I went back to using the original controller until I noticed that one starting to get a bit of a drift problem so I bought a blue controller. No problems so far with the blue controller. Had the PS5 since April of 2022

borrowed it indefinitely to a friend so it's his problem now if it shits the bed

Bought a PS5 Slim when they first came out and a spare controller as I like to keep them in rotation. Noticed within a week that one of the controllers had an issue where the touchpad controls would randomly activate in a brief flurry as if I'd been rapidly swiping from side to side. I had no idea whether it was the one bundled with the console or the spare so I just returned it as if it was the latter that was faulty and got a replacement.

No issues with either current controller so far.

Me and my wife have collectively gotten four controllers, and only one of hers stopped working.

I bought one pre-PS5 launch as my primary Steam controller and finally replace it a few months ago after the D-Pad started acting up and feeling mushy

Only one of the three it came with still works. The other two have stick drift so bad that they are unusable. I've had it for about 2.5 years now.

I got my PS5 last spring. I bought a second controller because I spilled a bit of hot cocoa on the first one. It still works but the big light button sticks a bit.

I have 3, one still in its packaging. The other two have been used a lot and get drift. But I can usually get them working fine for a while by pressing down on the stick and rotating it over and over.

I've had my ps5 for a little over two years. Im still using my original controller. I didnt play it a ton in the beginning but Elden Ring has me going pretty hard the last couple months.

Id like to get a controller with paddles but there arent any budget paddle controllers like there were for Xbox.

Bought in 2022, got drift within a year. I still use it as a backup when my other controller runs out of juice.

A year and a half. Still have the original controller.

Might be more damaged if I played like I did a decade ago but I'm down to a few hours a week these days, if that (went 4 months without even touching it at one point last year).

This, though I think I had drift for quite a long time and just wasn't sure. It was a bit of a weird one because it only effected a couple games, but it made walking forward at full speed impossible without moving at an angle. Not quite enough to make me replace the whole thing.

It wasn't until the speakers on the controller both started to crackle and barely play the audio that I caved and got a new one.
