Put it on hard mode, use the knife as close as possible and never use full auto. The game is just quirky without mods to make it less quirky.

Is stealth even possible in this game it feels like the enemies all know where I am always.

I managed to kill all those dudes but it cost me literally all of my NPC companions

I only saw the second half of it when they threw my battered body onto a table because I was on the phone

That's actually pretty cool and I see a lot of animals running into them and it looks like they're taking damage

Why didn't you buy it on the PS5?

Is it actually "easier" to play on hard? I'm playing blind myself after buying the trilogy the other day, and yeah it's hard & feels like an old FPS lol. I have to adjust

Because there isn't a PS5 version

I tried one of them once on PC back in like 2009 and couldnt get into it. It seemed like one of those games people like the idea of more than they like actually playing it.

The original game is probably pretty dated without the fan made patch or any of the overhauls it has

The patch especially added numerous quality of life things. I can't imagine playing it on a console tbh

Also the developer said that the console versions will be getting mods in the future

Don't hold your breath on any significant mod or patch coming over. All the original modders are done with it so you'll have to hope someone else picks up any good ones to port

Yeah they didn't explain how they were going to do it so hopefully it's not like how Unreal Tournament 3 was on the PS3

Basically all difficulty does is change what damage weapons do... Which means the enemies are actually bullet sponges on lower difficulties so it just makes things more frustrating. Full auto is useless due to mercy invincibility iirc so it's basically a waste of ammo.

Not really, the fact that you aren't trading blows with enemies as much actually works to your advantage. Since ammo isn't really the easiest thing to come by and weapons have durability it makes even more sense not to go through them as much.

did they fix any of the issues (i guess the crashes are fixed for console release) or is it a straight port

My head fucking hurts after fighting a controller

I followed an arrow for the story and I ended up on a military base and I couldn't figure out where to go so I climbed down a ladder and encountered it underground.

It's alright. It's not as open world as I thought. Gun jamming is getting annoying though.

I'm going to need to find better weapons though the ones I have are kind of crap

It's tied to the weapon durability, typically ones you harvest from enemies are junk and it doesn't help that you're constantly depleting the durability when firing them.

I seem to have encountered a game breaking issue. Every time I leave the bar the game crashes 100%

Yeah it happened after I dropped off the documents. My oldest save is before I went to the lab so I guess I got to go through the lab again
