I recently realized that my gym membership, which costs around $30, wasnt the best investment for me. However, Ive discovered the joy of working out at home. Its incredibly convenientno driving, no crowds, and no temptation from food places on the way back home. The experience has been fantastic! Plus, Im considering adding a bench to my home setup to expand my exercise options. For cardio, Ive got a workout game on my Switch, and on pleasant days, nothing beats a refreshing walk outdoors. Why stick to a treadmill when the beauty of nature awaits?

I really got the membership for the pool. They is why I didn't do the purple gym. But since Covid is got back in high gear I was like nope the pool. LOL

Anyone else don't use their gym membership and why.

I like my gym membership because my lifting is MUCH better there than at home. I only use the treadmill when it sucks too much to run outside.

I have an Active N Fit gym membership through my insurance and love it, $28 a month and I have memberships to all my local gyms, really saves me money because I don't like working out at the same gym everytime, also makes me feel less bad when I workout at home because I'm getting like $200+ of gym memberships for a whopping $28

I'm too socially awkward and self conscious for a gym. I like doing stuff at home.

Yea its very common for people to sign up for gym memberships during winter or for New Year Resolution and then they going after a week.

I found it easier just to buy some dumbbells and resistance bands instead.

I am not very mobile right now , so I have a hard time walking. That is the big reason I stayed home. But just by happenstance it was such a better time. However I don't know if I will be making my same gainz . I wonder how much a bench cost. Because that would really help.

I went the home route, starting 8 years ago. I have an adjustable bench, dumbbells, kettle, power tower, and exercise bike. Lacks the bells and whistles of the gym, but the basics are covered.

I do miss the eye candy, though.

What is wrong with the eye candy? I consider the men to be eye candy too even though I am straight, because it is something to aspire to

For those who missed my post. I said I don't like the eye candy.

With all the people getting put on video for do nothing wrong. I am always worried that I am going to get in trouble for doing nothing. However I deleted that, but other pretty people should not get drug because of the action of a few.

I just don't worry about things like that

As I have stated elsewhere, my wife comes with me so she can be my gym crush. But she does sometimes act like "leave me alone", so I wonder if others think I am annoying her lol

There's no way I could do a home gym, even I could afford all the necessities. Physically going to a place that has the equipment is more motivating than having it in the vicinity of all my entertainment stuff.

It would be easier for me. Just game or watch something while on a treadmill.

You'd have to be rich to be able to afford all of the different machines and equipment from a full gym. You'd need a space for it too. That's never happening for me lol. The gym is the only way for me to get a good workout. I have some dumbbells, and I probably could get a bench for home, but that's not enough. The multitude of machines and equipment at the gym is needed for me to have a good workout, imo.

I've spent (or had spent on me by family) about $3500 on gym memberships in my life and probably only used about $500 of it. And that was just for cardio, something I now do for free by walking or running outside.

I've invested about $600 in home gym equipment (dumbbells, incline bench, parallette bars so far) in the past couple of years and I've used them every single day. I have no reason not to. They're right there. I don't have to get to the gym. I don't have to plan around or deal with other people. I control the music. I can fart as much as I want. It's great.

I'm the kind of person who will make any excuse to get out of anything. I now have no excuses to bail on a workout and and am subsequently putting in the highest effort, most consistent work I've ever done. It's paying off. I'm getting results.

I feel like I started this post a week ago, but I did another at-home workout today, and it was great. It was one of the best workouts I've had in recent years, although not quite like my college days in the weight room. My triceps hurt, my biceps had a little more pump than usual, and during rest between sets, I could literally hop into bed. I even did one set using a pillow. This might become my new thing. I guess I will use the gym for leg day. Like they say you can used Bands for legs but I am not really feeling it. I also need a bar that I can left my self up with. Something like this. Anyone have any suggestions.

Something like a bench press bar and bench. but those things cost to much. And I really need it just to left myself up. So it would be waste to get a real one.
