i've never played Cyberpunk. i have to imagine robocop is way lower tech, but he's pretty bulletproof and strong. he's also got heart and determination, something no one in cyberpunk has

Its not about being bulletproof though. There's a lot of ways to get around that with hacking. An amazing netrunner can probably get him down quickly.

depending on whether his tech is compatible with that in Cyberpunk, a net runner can hit him with a quick hack.

basically, that means they can hit you with a virus that affects your tech (can burn you, zap you, make you go insane, to the point you kill anyone around you, commit suicide, etc.).

there are also people with tech that can warp around at super speed.

finally, there's Adam Smasher, who's basically all chrome with the exception of his brain.

he has all of the latest tech, and is seen as Night City's monster.

He would be destroyed in seconds.

I view robocop as the early early days of the cyberpunk genre.

Love robocop but they got way better tech in cyberpunk

robocop is pretty fireproof anyway, he tanks a gas station explosion like its nothing

I think focusing on the hacking is the wrong play. I haven't seen the shows or anything, so there could be a lot of stupid shit in there, but the movies show Murphy is pretty strong willed and able to overcome his programming to an extent. What WOULD do him in though, is the fact he's slow and clunky and HAS been shown to be susceptible to shit like magnets and electricity as well as melee. Doesn't Cyberpunk have some pretty ridiculous melee shit like chainsaw laser swords and stuff? That would easily take out Robocop.

I've never played Cyberpunk, but considering that cyber implants are at a point where you can barely tell someone has them, Robocop would have the floor wiped with him. In fact, they probably would put his parts in some floor cleaner robot.

Sure, but he won't be able to as Adam Smasher is not only far more powerful, but also has a Sandevistan.

Sandevistans allowed their users to boost their own speed and perception drastically for a short time before needing to enter a state of cooldown. Those who possessed military-grade Sandevistans, which Smasher did, could move so fast that their opponents couldn't even react to their movements before being slain

Robocop doesn't have anything in his arsenal to deal with that. Hell, not even remake Robocop can deal with that despite being far more agile than OG Robocop.

if it doesnt kill robocop, which it wouldnt, because nothing kills him in one hit, then robocop can retaliate

Robocop's tech just cannot compete with Cyberpunk.

I mean, you have cybernetics that literally allow you to flash step, whereas Robocop is a big clunky robot man that can't even run. Not to mention the overall weaponry in Cyberpunk is just way more over-the-top. You literally have a submachine gun with auto-tracking explosive rounds.

But can anyone in Cyberpunk shoot people in the dick?

Far more advanced sensors than Robocop possesses aren't able to react to that. His head would've been torn of his torso before he even realizes his opponent has moved. And that heart would now be Smasher's hacky sack.
A Robocop built in Cyberpunk's world could stand a chance. OG Robocop is a children's toy in Cyberpunk's era.

He would be hacked the instant he leaves the police station and forced into slavery.

besides Adam Smasher, Morgan Blackhand is probably in Night City's top three big dogs, but the creator of the tabletop game didn't want him in 2077, iirc (I think he's supposed to be alive, though).

Blackhand is guy who created the tabletop game's self-insert.

outside of Blackhand, *heavy 2077 spoilers* a dying V (the main character) takes out Adam Smasher, and in one ending, does so solo.

Robocop is a zombie entirely reliant on tech that he can't overcome by willpower. He would have to upgrade his tech and become robocop 2.0 cyber cop edition and teach them kids to stay in school.

Only if you ignore Smasher being able to dodge and tank anything Murphy can throw at him while Murphy needs to try and tank everything Smasher does as he isn't able to dodge at all.
The way to defeat Smasher is by using Tech weaponry and quickhacks, none of which Murphy has in his arsenal.

You're right. Older movie =/= weaker character. What does make him a weaker character is that he's running on century old tech and using outdated armor plating. His ancient tech could make him somewhat impervious to quickhacks as it's so ancient the average netrunner probably doesn't know how to deal with it.
And he's def able to tear Murphy's head off with ease. Or just crush it. And all of that before Murphy registers it as he's running on tech that probably isn't even able to run a NES emulator.

older tech doesnt mean weaker either. thats the plot of future robocops even. even terminator knows this

i sincerely doubt he's strong enough to rip apart robocop. and if he's getting that close then robocop would just overpower him himself. or stab him with his USB finger

Yeah I didnt hate 2 but the original is a classic for me and the others simply are not. The new game that just came out is pretty good though. Worth checking out.

So you didn't even get 10 seconds in where the guy in the power-suit literally uses a massive magnetic field capable of disarming a bunch of soldiers at once from a distance (cyberpunk implants appear to be EM-shielded, but most of their guns are still at least partly made of ferrous materials).

So yes they do have magnets.

But then, you have basically been arguing with the equivalent to "nuh-uh, superman can't be beat because people don't just run around with kryptonite or magic."
