Depends why you don't like them.

This has really good production values, visuals and stories compared to most Ubisoft games. It's also pretty streamlined and isn't too bloated.

But it's still an open world game with everything sign posted, scripted and marked on a map. There's absolutely nothing systemic or organic about it outside of how you decide to kill soldiers within a camp.

yeah, sounds like i wouldnt like it. I noped out of horizon after the intro when it turned into an ubisoft type game

The combat alone makes it a better game than anything Ubisoft has done. It feels so satisfying.

if it made a difference how you approached objectives it would have been a much better game. like, if you still hold true to being a samurai the world and interactions would be different than if you embraced being a ninja. it's still a pretty good game, but so close to greatness

Yeah if that type of open world turns you off it's probably not for you. I loved the setting and it's not excessive with the open world checklists but it's definitely there.

It would make good sense right now. With the new Shogun miniseries going on, people will probably be itching to play a samurai game.

For me I really wanted more stuff to stumble on in the open world.

Felt like there were only 4 different events redone over and over.

• Soldiers marching
• Soldiers escorting a prisoner
• Soldiers with a treasure chest
• Soldiers fighting a bear

It really needed something that gives the world more life.

Those are just the random events. There's also shrines with some platforming, haiku spots, some other shit I don't remember because it's been like 4 years since I've played it. But a lot of the fixed stuff is decent.
