You have not experienced Shakespeare until you have read him in the original Klingon.

I watched it again not too long ago. It's still great, but I'm also still a little baffled by the Christian Slater cameo. I've always wondered why that's how they did it.

Christian Slater's mother was the casting director for Star Trek VI and since he was a Trek fan he asked if she could get him a part in the film and she did.

His mother is Mary Jo Slater. She was the casting director for the film. He wanted to be in Star Trek so he got that role.

I've actually been going through the ST movies this week. Just finished 3 earlier today.

This has to be one of the best line deliveries ever:

II and VI are top shelf.

IV is fun.

III is so-so.

V is a crime against humanity.

I remember watching that movie and being in disbelief at how much of that was going on. It felt like it would never end. It doesn't even deserve to be called a movie...just a special effects demo or something.

V was the first one I saw in the theaters so I probably have a slight bias (even read the novelization) - Kirk's line about pain being part of what makes him him still echoes in my mind

"Why does God need a space ship?"

Not sure if I got the quote right, but that's what I remember from the movie...that and Spock's brother.

Thanks for the correction. It has been more than a decade since I saw that movie. It's probably the second worst of the main six, with only the first movie being worse.
