Its actually unprecedented how many former trump staff members, including staff at the most senior level positions, have come forward and warned about trumps incompetence.

I don't see how the best approach to hearing information like this is to assume it's not happening and do nothing in response. When Biden was up big in 2020 polls and people said that we shouldn't rest easy and should assume we're behind, that was the right approach. Now that numerous reputable polls are saying Biden is behind, why is the response disbelief and apathy, rather than that same response? It's even more necessary now.

The way things are being handled this time has me really worried that everyone is committing the exact errors Trump needs to win.

What I'm not getting here is that a bunch of these polls did not show Rs wiping Dems out. You're conflating firms like Trafalgar with Sienna. What is the point in insisting the polls can't be true based on an objectively wrong premise

Mid terms, special elections, everything. Republicans would be winning landslide elections for the last 6 years if polls were to be believed.

The simple fact is, they have no clue how to adjust for the Roe effect, or IVF effect, or Republicans doing absolutely nothing in 2 years with the House effect, or really anything.

Biden has insanely low approval ratings, yet Dems are constantly over performing in every single election. The fact that it's not common doesn't mean it's not happening and polls simply don't know how to account for it.

Polling is dead, the sooner you understand this, the sooner you can stop fear mongering about it.

Don't think anyone should be surprised when someone who works as an insurance company doctor supports the Republican party.

He's made great court appointments, stood up for labor unions like no president EVER, and stood by an anti-monopoly FTC chair that has big business howling in anger. He's cancelled tons of student and tried to cancel more. He's done SO MUCH.

No its not. Its objective reality that:

1. Biden has done far more good than any president since FDR, but this is a really low bar because most presidents have barely done anything good
2. Our broken ass system means he cant really do anything substantial legislatively (though its also fair to point out Biden doesnt support substantial legislation other countries have had for decades like single payer healthcare, so he probably wouldnt do it if he could)
3. Biden is funding Israels genocide
4. Biden is still infinitely better than any Republican and thus should be the choice by default, again because our system is so fucked we apparently cant produce anything better

A huge improvement is still a positive. Downplaying that is stupid.

NO, there is no "But!" This isn't complicated. If you say "But," you're part of a noisy group of people who contribute to a larger sense of apathy: that both parties are the same. And there are a LOT of apathetic voters.

"Both parties are the same, I won't vote or will just vote third party" is a very stupid idea that none the less seems to have some appeel to a LOT of people, and has repeatedly caused catastrophic rsults (see Bush 2000, Trump 2016). We have to do everything we can to DEFEAT "But!"

People were excited for Obama because hes the singularly most gifted political orator in living memory, and he was insanely charismatic during his first campaign. Plus he promised real change he didnt deliver on.

People were excited for Trump because he swore and told it like it is and basically was the opposite of a politician and typical doublespeak, plus he told his base exactly what they wanted to hear.

Literally no one was excited for Biden. People just thought he had the best chance of beating Trump and fulfilled their own prophecy.

I think part of the reason people aren't excited for is because there's no permission structure. People imitate what they see. If they see excitement they feel excited, if they see apathy, they feel apathetic. It's as easy as that.

Because hes been a middle of the road politician for his entire career. He simply doesnt do anything exciting or hold any exciting positions. Hes safe. That is the start and end of why he was nominated, because primary voters played 4D chess and figured surely he was the only one moderate enough to not scare away the mythical moderate swing voter.
