Grubb also mentioned that Bioware employees feel confident about the window. Many of Grubbs previous statements on Game Press have also proven reliable later on.

However, Grubb does mention that they are uncertain about when the release window will be revealed. So, it may come earlier or later than the official announcement claims.

It has been many years since the latest Dragon Age game, so fans have built a lot of buzz around Dreadwolf. Dragon Age: Dreadwolf will surely benefit from all of the latest technological advancements in 2024.

So we'll see it in 2026 then

And then by 2028 mods and patches will have made it out of a Beta state and actually playable

I haven't followed the Dragon Age series too much after playing the first game way back in the day, but it felt like I've been hearing about this game being in development since around the time Mass Effect Andromeda came out in 2017. I'm at the point, that I wish Bioware would hurry up and just finally finish making this game, so they can shift resources to working on the next Mass Effect game. Which that game will come out a decade plus from now, knowing how slow they've gotten.

Extremely repetitive and boring open world gameplay, balance issues (barrier >>>> all), meh gameplay that STILL isn't as in depth and interesting as DA:O, pacing issues due to the requirement of gathering power to go anywhere.

Off the top of my head and I haven't played it in a long long time.

I played way too much Inquisition lol

I've 100%d the game once (well as close as you can on a playthrough), did a deep dive on my first completion (on 360 mind you), and I think I've beaten it at least once more.

I've something like 500 hours into it.

I'm looking forward to this. I thought Inquisition was top tier and I loved it. Got platinum trophy on it on PS4. Even back then people said all the talent had left Bioware and they were trash and I thought it was a great game. *shrug* Can't wait for this.

I'll play it eventually, but Bioware stopped being a trustworthy studio years ago-- likely due to the fact that they've fired all the talent and EA corporate meddling.

I love Dragon Age but I really wish they were doing a new story instead of carrying on from a cliffhanger that happened a decade ago. Not to mention the DLC I never played...

Hope it at least has a decent recap.

Inquisition had some alright DLC. The one where you go into a dwarven mine wasn't that great in my opinion, but the one where you go over the Frostbacks (available somewhat early in the game, thankfully) was enjoyable. Trespasser is the one most people crow about, but it requires beating the entire game -- which I assume most of the faithful will do at least once, lol.

Trespasser is a direct continuation of the DAI story. You probably should play it at some point before Dreadwolf.

Dragon Age doesn't seem like a franchise that will benefit from a 10 year gap.

Hopefully it turns out well but I have a feeling that BG3 will leave people pretty cold for this and whatever potential changes they have done to try and make it accessible.

The problem is that it came out months (or more?) after I had finished DA:I. So I'd moved on, forgotten how to play, didn't want to spend more money and maybe had lost my saves by that point (don't recall if I backed them up). There's no way I'm going through the whole game again (it was huge) and even if I did start at the DLC, I'd have to drop the difficulty to the most basic option because I imagine it'll wreck me being post-game and having no idea how to play anymore.

This exact same scenario actually happened with DA2, I had no idea DA:I was a continuation of DA2 DLC so I spent a lot of Inquisition like "Huh!? Who is this guy?" and never really connected to the main plot because of it. I think it's a lame way to set up a sequel.

Seeing how I'm marathoning medieval fantasy games and a manga of late going back to last year. I'll likely end up playing through all 3 Dragon Age before the new game comes out. I've only played the first one way back when it first came out and only one playthrough, and I have wanted to revisit that game for a long while.

Supposedly, he's at least 1 of the main antagonists, although there's hints of other big bad monstery things to deal with.

I have high hopes but middling expectations. I probably would've been more excited for a continuation of the story from DA:I a decade ago, but the franchise still has some goodwill with me because of how much I enjoyed DA:O.

Ehhh

I mean DA2 introduced the new villain (and their connection to Hawke) but that's about it. I don't think it was required before playing DA:I. DA:I explains who the villain is as if you've never heard of them before.

Where as Trespasser has a whole heap of plot. I strongly expect Dreadwolf will continue straight from it.
