Gotta hand it to Blizzard. Their company overall can be slimely but the controls in their games are super fluid and responsive. Minimal clunk, delay or lag. WOW, Diablo, Overwatch the characters are all smooth and responsive.

Dmc 3 ubisoft port at 120+ fps and in DT state Is the most responsive action game I've played. In normal state it's still very responsive as well.

The only parts that require some timing from what i experience are ground e&i shots right after like a stinger or beginning of rebellion swordmaster crazy combo dash. This is without using the auto cancel thingy to bypass this (up d pad by default which also changes style to trickster or quicksilver).

MGSV has some great controls for a series that was pretty notorious for having pretty convoluted control schemes.

I forgot to mention to turn on turbo mode too for dmc 3 se ubisoft port . I just forgot somehow

But yeah it scales real well to a player's mashing speed. Well mainly in the air. Ground stuff is still pretty lenient too on timing tho just need to time projectiles inbetween melee attacks every now and then. Or maybe often depending on playstyle

TLoU2.

it has some of the best controls in an action-adventure game.

also, Tomb Raider 2013 (haven't played the other two).

Let's also not forget... the original DOOM for PC.

It was that fluid, responsive setup where you sometimes find yourself ducking your head left and right in real life along with the controls as that imp chucks a fireball at your face.

been playing dmc 3 ubisoft port at 60 fps today. i expected it to feel much worse (i haven't played at 60 fps in some months) but it is not bad at all imo. I did have to acclimate from 120 fps which took me about 30 mins.

i admit that 60 fps feels more manageable in some parts. i've no evidence of this but 120 fps seems to play a little bit faster even w/ the style switch mod which prevents double speed (the vanilla game's framerate is closely tied to the game's speed). im not receiving as much hand fatigue at 60 fps. might be because im playing a bit slower to accommodate for slower game speed?

^ at 5 seconds is the ground E&I shot after stinger that i talked about in a previous post. it is the flash that comes out of the tip of rebellion right before the stinger back. this helps keep the enemy in the air longer. the flashes in the air are e&i shots as well but those don't require any timing. The ground E&I shot is def one of the few cases of dmc 3 movement that requires some timing. But compared to other action games and esp fighters it has a pretty wide window. When i was playing around w/ it @ 120 fps i was able to successfully do it within a range of like 120-150th frame after the 1st stinger (just an estimate based on what i remember seeing on the counter). So pretty lenient, yes.

other than a few other cases (like royal guard blocking which still isn't that strict compared to most games w/ a parry), dmc 3 is very fluid and responsive imo.

i nominate dmc 3 ubisoft port @ 60 fps as having one of the most fluid controls for sure. one might not even need to worry about timing at all if you just air spam all day which is actually what i prefer to do in the actual game.

120 fps (DT enemies always launch was off [accurate enemy displacement values]):

ahh ok the speed difference is prob bullshit. i was tricked by 120 fps looking smoother and feeling better on my 120 hz TV. i was associating smoothness and responsiveness w/ speed.
the extra hand fatigue i get at 120 fps is probably just something i imagined as well.

i really can't tell a difference between the two clips outside of the weapon switching appearing faster on the 60 fps clip.
