do you think they are much tougher on offensive though? So you got like one or two more before the other one had fallen off, in a month? you have an alt?
I don't think they differentiate much, unless it's a case that really is blatantly offensive rather than it being used vaguely.

I have 3 alts, mostly for the gimmicky usernames. I haven't had to use them for warn/suspension evasion in a very long time now. ( @ShutTheF---Up @F---Off @Porn ). I'm very open about them being my alts because I've had other gimmicky alts banned for ridiculously minor shit in the past, and suspect they were being mistaken for Tails / SMAL / etc alts.

It depends. If I knowingly break the ToS, no. I made my choice, I'm not going to hassle some mod further about it.

If I don't believe that my post violated the ToS, I'll appeal.

Only a handful and that was after a long appeal, like where the topic I was modded in was 1 day from being purged.
before when it was like 3 appeals? seemed most users liked that system better. Had some say, there's more overturns under the new system

maybe like trolling would have many more users getting that mod, but offensive would be on avg tougher ...etc..punishments....not sure

Yeah, new system does seem to work better. The previous one relied on the original mod who'd rarely back down. Lead mods tended to be notoriously stubborn, and while I don't know how common it is among the team as a whole, several of the well known ones definitely have a bit of an attitude which doesn't give much confidence in them. It was pretty well known that SB just rubber-stamped suspensions with an algorithm-determined purg or ban, so it's very likely he didn't even read appeals to admin either. On the other hand, it would seem that the general mods when voting anonymously are more willing to put in effort and judge fairly.

Of course, all that is just speculation, as we don't really know what goes on behind the scenes, let alone what individual mods are thinking.

before i thought some said the original mod never got any of the 3 appeals. Idk, can you even say for sure there is a vote, though, idk

At the first level of appeals, it would go to another moderator who could either uphold it, or forward it back to the original mod who would then decide to uphold or overturn it. Only at the lead or admin level would it get overturned directly.

Your guess is as good as mine as to whether there really is a vote, though I haven't seen any reason not to believe there is and it would be a weird thing for them to persistently lie about.

I think the only time I got modded and agreed with it was when someone was saying they were gonna post nudes and I egged them on to do it and the reasoning for the mod was something like: "don't encourage someone to do something that's against TOS"

After I read that I was like yeah that's fair lol

i've heard many users do what you do. Do you at least try to greatly avoid getting modded though, even if you don't read them
I guess that depends on what you mean by "greatly." I'm not afraid to express my opinion, but I almost always try to be respectful if I think someone in particular might get offended.

I do NOT troll, even though people definitely accuse me of it just because they don't agree. Trolling is when you are intentionally trying to start arguments, which I actively avoid. With only rare exceptions, if someone obviously wants to argue, I just don't reply. Period. Back when I used Usenet/Newsgroups I quickly learned that arguing on the internet is pointless and a waste of time. Just like arguing with mods here.

I can be an asshole when someone gets under my skin, I'll admit that. But I consistantly see far worse posts that never get modded then anything I ever say. And when someone does get me to react and post something fairly stupid, then I ignore them from then on.

In real life I'm a very easy going person. I think the internet can get the best of any of us from time to time. I prefer to post about positive things, but yeah, sometimes all the negativity gets the better of me. But I honestly don't believe I've ever written anything that deserved to get modded for. The worst stuff I've posted I always knew I'd "crossed the line" and within minutes I'd delete it myself.

So yes, I'm opinionated and I can sometimes be "snarky" to people I think are assholes, but overall I'm pretty damn mild compared to so many users here. I guess other people see me differently now and then, though.

I don't know if that really answered question, but I tried since you asked nicely.

I'm just guessing since I don't read the moderations, but yeah. It doesn't happen often. On this account maybe 5 or 6 times. On my only alt account probably a few more but it's about two years older.

My original account from whenever they started having accounts here was never modded because I never used the forums way back then. I didn't even use this site for about 11 years at one point and my password for that account didn't work any more.
