Mew 02/22/24 11:57:22 AM #1:	Family pit bull mauls 18 month old toddler, causing brain damage and later death after a few days in the ICU. The pit bull is currently in municipal custody where they will determine whether it will be put down, reintegrated into the family, or given up for adoption. On Friday, February 16, a pit bull dog attacked a one and a half year old child who was inside his house trying to defend another pet in Arjona (Bolvar). The first versions indicate that the aggressor dog belonged to the owners of the house and for that reason it was without a muzzle. After the attack, the child was transferred to the Napolen Franco Pareja Hospital, where he arrived with injuries to his neck and other vital parts that caused brain damage and later his death. For his part, the director of the Casa del Nio recommended that the community be careful with these types of breeds classified as dangerous, which could cause incidents like the one that occurred in Arjona. I don't have actual statistics. I only have my own personal experience with dog bites. Maybe what I see is more or less common. However 89.7 million dogs in the US and 4.5 million pitts. So even though they are more violent then other breeds, which I never once denied its still unfair to demonize millions of dogs for what less then one percent of them have done.
