What game is it that the future "people" revere and put in this museum? It is visited by thousands of visitors around the world daily to bask in the glory. It is akin to religious monuments of today.

It would have to be one of the early games to get that kind of reverence. Pong, Tetris, Super Mario Bros. Something like that

no it can be any game

this is 1000 years in the future and most games will be lost to time

likely this disc was dug out of an ancient burial tomb or so that is what archeologists believe

Space Invaders, maybe.

Hard to think of any games outside of the early ones that 'changed the world' (as in altered human behaviour and activity) rather than just essentially refining the formula.

Maybe the first hugely popular online or mobile games?

I'm thinking about games that would have had a disk, but also significant online play. That started the change in human behaviour from solo/domestic gaming to interacting worldwide.

oh in that case I think the only real option in that category is world of warcraft

a lot of the big online games, and definitely the mobile games, don't have any physical form. I'd have a hard time imagining them lasting 50 years let alone 1000

I guess I'm misunderstanding the question.

We have artifacts in museums that revolutionised society and human behaviour. From bronze tools to early steam engines. But they in themselves don't really impact society now.

I can see people in the future looking at something like Space Invaders and Warcraft and seeing that they had a societal impact. I don't see the same really applying to, say, Mario 64 or GTA as they are essentially refinements, not revolutions. I certainly don't think they will be influencing the world of 3024.

Half-Life 3.

It's not a very good museum since they only have exhibits that are a few months old.
