You still have to speak the verbal component of the spell. That's no good for sneaking.

Ok I was only thinking a exterior door where civilians might be walking around normally. Wasn't considering once inside.

No, the problem is the duration, not the components. Invisibility requires V,S,M, but it lasts an hour.

So if you time stop they can still see you walk by.

If not how long does time stop last thought I saw someone say 30 seconds which is a lot longer than it sounds. I live in a 3 bedroom 2 bath house I'm confident I could go into every room and back to my starting point if I hustled.

Anyways I feel it could have some uses but it would be very specific scenarios. I ain't arguing it's the better choice.

Yeah but Time Stop duration doesn't really matter for Invisibility requirements, assuming you can do both. You'd still need to utter Za Waruda or whatever but then you could definitely cast Invisibility (or any other self buffs) while time was stopped and no one would notice. You get 12-30 seconds (so 2-5 actions, which can all be spells) that for everyone else happens effectively instantly. In 3e a hilarious use of this was to just dump 5 high level Summon spells and watch as your target got absolutely dogpiled once time kicked back in. Or 4 summons and an Invis so that they have no idea where all the adds came from. Sadly, with the way 5e handles concentration spells this no longer works, removing one of the few actual use-cases for Time Stop that can't be easier solved with Wish.

If it was about babies we'd have universal maternal care. There would be no charge no matter how complex the delivery. But its not about babies, is it?

i was talking about it in the context of using it for stealth in the real world, not in D&D.

There was a CE 3.5e campaign at one point, plus several other games hosted on Gamefaqs. My ex girlfriend was one of the main DMs. It went on for a few years but slowly petered out. There's still a variety of forum games played (B8 has Mafia from time to time, the FF1 NES board runs a MUD style game, and I play in a different MUD style game on the Dragon Warrior 1 NES board) but I'm not aware of any active D&D games, sadly.

I used to play all the time at this gaming store. Better than online gaming for sure.

Oh definitely. Every time I've tried to play in an online campaign either it died off after 3-4 sessions or I just was not clicking with the group at all. I understand some people love it but for me it doesn't even come close to matching the IRL tabletop experience. Some people would rather have bad D&D as no D&D though

I gotta say that the restrictions on both abilities sucks, and it doesn't interest me now.
Can give me a random and i most like won't use them anyway.
