Do you know how long the lines would be if the tickets werent expensive?

Youd be waiting 10 hours to ride space mountain one time.

You are trying to go on a popular day. Disneyland tickets have a price range of $104-194 depending on what day you want to go on.

lol just wait until you're actually inside the park. $169 is lunch and a souvenir cup.

The funny thing is Disneyland raised the prices to help lower the number of people in the park... but people still came anyway.

Makes me think of Wonderland and how much they charge.

The Disney stuff seems kind of boring to me. The rides are boring too. <_<

I've never been to either Disney park and I have no real interest in it. Aside from liking classic Disney properties, I hate crowds and I'm generally not a fan of rides, so it seems miserable and overpriced.

This is why I don't go to Disneyland. It's a lot of fun and I have very fond memories of it. But there are equally good theme parks to enjoy that won't charge you through the nose. I'll take Knotts or Magic Mountain, or even a county fair.

Once upon a time, Disney had more reasonable prices, the lines have always been ridiculous, and the park always crowded.

I've been to both Disneyland and Disneyworld fairly recently. My work sent me out to LA a year and a half ago my wife flew out to join me and I extended the stay a day to go to Disneyland.

When I went to world it was the same time of year (right around Halloween) a year later it was for a vacation and we stayed at a resort near the park (Coronado Springs). The parks are very similar if all you want to go to are things that exist in both parks like the magic kingdom or Galaxys Edge (star wars land) but I liked Orlando a lot more overall. Felt way less overpopulated and staying at a Disney hotel made it so easy to the parks. Had an app on my phone that was my room key and I could also just look at the bus times. Hung out in a cafe and then when the bus was a few minutes out to the park we wanted to go to we would stroll out to ride to the parks. Lovely.

go for more than just Mario world otherwise youre gonna be super disappointed.

Like the other poster said the price is based on park capacity. If you go the following week for 112 youre gonna see it way less crowded (and its how I set up my trips for both land and world).

Super Mario land is like a 15-20 minute stop tops though, so unless you like the rest of universal a lot youre not getting the same bang for buck

Back in the 80s and 90s, the only fun thing to do was theme parks and roller coasters if you didn't want to go to the beach. It was either Disney, or Six Flags. $15-30/per person for my parents to be able to distract all of the kids for an entire day.

Video game culture hadn't taken as much root, so this was the most fun one could have as a kid, up to 16 or so years old.

Yeah if you're going to Disneyland, you really need to make it a multi day visit. They give you a discount if you pay for 3+ days.

Well if you're looking at parks in SoCal, then you should look into Knott's Berry Farm. If you buy online, their tickets are consistently under $80, even during the summer. And it's not far from Disneyland

Six Flags Magic Mountain is also usually under $80, but it's almost entirely catered to coaster lovers
