try another restaurant if one is in your area??
the place by my house will completely fill up one of those square styrofoam takeout boxes with almond boneless chicken for around $15 with a pint of rice. Last time I counted and it was like 7 or 8 really nice sized cutlets. It literally lasts me 4 or 5 days lol (except the rice, I won't eat leftover rice)

Agreed the prices at all the chinese places near me have gotten ridiculous to the point of not being worth it anymore. Food that used to cost $30-$35 now costs like $45-$50 and the quality hasn't gone up at all, it's just more expensive for the same shit. Better off just buying a rotisserie chicken, some rice and noodles and veggies and making your own.

Eh, out of all takeout Chinese has always been prohibitively expensive to eat as anything other then a treat for a special occasion.

man thats why I started going to Costco more often a case of 6 chicken teriyaki bowls are $20, so 6 meals for about $3.50 each. 6 meals at Chinese restaurant would put you over $75

I just chicken teriyaki bowls as example but Im sure there are actual Chinese food variations at Costco, I just happen to be a fan of their Chicken Teriyaki Bowls

My favorite local place jacked its minimum delivery order to 25 bucks. That's not including the delivery fee or the sales tax. I have trouble filling an order for 1 person that hits that amount without buying way more than I need.

Not fair to compare Costco prices to mom and pops restaurants. Costco sells some items like the chicken rotisserie at cost or even at a loss cause its one of the items they use to lure people into the store. Also its subsidized by the memberships.

if you eat enough chickens and only chickens. Then the membership cost would set offset itself

My thing has always been less about price, and the fact that they really don't fill, or feel like you've eaten anything of substance after.

Sometimes i'm glad I live in a small area, we have a Japanese food truck that comes and I can get a whole entree thing with steak and chicken with rice and veggies for $13 and it feeds me for like 2 meals. When they are in Nashville their prices are closer to $22 each.

This, by comparison any fast food joint you eat will never beat Costco prices in terms of money and value. The only thing fast food joints can do quicker is cooking the food faster than you having to cook them yourself. This topic was made in such bad faith.

Thats ridiculous dude lol. It used to be 6-7 bucks pre covid. I used to get a lunch special at a Thai place. I would get the red curry special and it was 7 bucks. Now its 11.50

Is this via a food delivery app or directly at the restaurant? My experience is that those lunch specials are around $10 and maybe the rice would be $6-8, around here at least. Although the dishes have gone up a few dollars over the years, yours is $10 over my estimate!

Have you considered not ordering delivery then and just ordering take out and picking up the order yourself?

It's more expensive now but I still think you get your money's worth. I get it a few times a year.

I don't know what they do to the food but I can never make Chinese food at home that tastes like takeout. Doesn't matter what recipe I follow. Must be why you never see non Chinese working in a Chinese restaurant.
