The emissions guy I try to go to is notoriously flaky. He has no regular hours. He has no regular days, but he's always the cheapest by almost 10 dollars. He also has over a dozen signs explaining to pull around back and regularly refuses customers who refuse to read and follow instructions. Living the dream.

About five years ago I started correlating him being there with fortune telling following an amazing series of good luck after managing to get my emissions done there. For the last 4 years he's been conspicuously absent whenever I drive by to get them done. I don't want to make multiple trips so I go across the street, pay 10 dollars more and take the loss.

But today, for the first time in 5 years the door was open and I got them done at the lucky place. An amazing omen for the coming year.

CE, do you have any weird ass superstitions? The weirder it is the more interested I am.

Yeah, It's a requirement here if your car is older than (x) years old before you can apply for your tag renewal.
