Do you believe the majority of pedestrians there are alright, paying attention to where they're going , following pedestrian walking rules and stuff?

I rode as a passenger, as like an 8 year old. I was too busy staring at the sewer manhole covers, hoping to spot a TMNT head peeking out, to see what the pedestrians were doing

As an occasional pedestrian of NYC, it's a madhouse. Don't drive there.

why do you hate the subway so much? prob most new yorkers use the subway. Lirr? visited new york many times, relatives. Do you actually like living there though? Have heard others say that new yorkers are on avg the meanest in the country, of any metro area in u.s. , on avg, obv, exceptions everywhere.

The subway is shit. Filled with crime, homelessness, and the prices of the fare is inflated for no improvement.

Nobody drives in NYC. They just park on the street.

Back in the day it was mostly the kids getting out of high school causing trouble. Now its homeless people and EDPs.

I've driven there, it was annoying but somehow not as annoying as driving around Baltimore.

Not sure what edps are. Yeah saw some homeless, so the numbers of those have increased greatly from like 20 yrs ago right?

I dont drive, but I ride my bike everywhere in NYC. There have been a lot of mopeds riding the bike lane lately, sometimes going against traffic, its crazy lol.

for the shops, convinience and asian supermarkets, yeah. The rest, nope.

Never saw a point to driving on anything slower than the freeway of NYC. Not going into the city proper with a car ever. It is no faster than walking, if you try.

Prob easily most new Yorkers do use the subway

Its really only bad as the lights are turning from WALK to DONT WALK because everyone is just trying to cross before the cars start moving again.

Ive driven in NYC dozens of times. In the heaviest of traffic, and when I was virtually the only one on the road.

Its not bad if youre paying attention.

Yes, I've driven in NYC countless times. You can't really treat it as a monolith. In Queens there's many suburban areas where driving is fine. Brooklyn is pretty shitty to drive in due to traffic and narrow streets. I avoid driving in Manhattan but have a few times when passing through to go up Jersey or PA. Pedestrians are generally fine, although I do remember someone almost stepping in front of my car in the city when I had a green light.

no, the only time I went to NYC was purely on accident and the entire time was spent trying to go back home.

It's a jungle. Everyone is insane, entitled and thinks they're right. Drivers, pedestrians, bike riders/moped riders etc

Really really depends on the time of day and where you are since Queens and Brooklyn are both so big. I've been in bad traffic in both boroughs. I've lived in Brooklyn and Queens and generally traffic has been worse for me in Brooklyn, but again I was generally in more single home residential areas in Queens. In like Jackson Heights and Astoria, where it's more concentrated, traffic can be bad. I haven't visited the Bronx since I was a teenager and I've never drove there

Subway is like 10x times more dangerous than it was when I was growing up

the bronx is like the least populated borough iirc, and kinda the furthest away, too.Have been to bronx zoo once, the yankees play there, not sure about mets.

have heard this also. Also heard adams has greatly increased the police down there. Why is it much worse, in your opinion?
