people including my ex has been telling me my arms chest and shoulders are getting bigger.

but I dont notice much? Ive been lifting about 4 months but the last 2 months I switched to a PHUL routine (upper lower power and hypertrophy) and Ive been increasing my weight steadily.

when do I start seeing serious gains?
Ive been addicted going to the gym and Ive been eating protein powder like water lol. Like 150g a protein a day I think.

Surprised you haven't noticed yet. Should definitely have stuff there that wasn't before. Taking pics to measure?

Typically you'll be the last person to notice. How I picture myself in the mirror and how others perceive me are 2 completely different things.

Yeah, creatine is pretty safe and it really does help out bust more reps. You just have to take it consistently everyday. I think the pill form of creatine monohydrate. Make sure you drink quite a bit of water with it.

Anyhow, as long as you are making gains in the reps and/or pushing up weight, you're getting there already. Like you said, you do have to eat more than you burn to optimally build muscle.

How much do you weigh btw?

You can gain a solid 7-10 lbs of muscle in your first year or two of lifting w/ newbie gains, after that it slows down to 3-5 lbs per year. That's just muscle, doesn't sound like a lot but 5-10 lbs of muscle is a big difference on a 150 lb person.

I would take some progress pictures, and also keep track of how much weight you are lifting. Its hard to see gains in the mirror when you look at yourself every day, comparing yourself to pics from 6 months ago and seeing your lifts go up in weight are the best way to see progress.
