How many plates do you normally get? And what do you usually get?

Lots of meat. Shit tons of smashed taters and gravy.
Oh and soup. I love soup.

I may get a bit of soft serve if available, but otherwise I'm not a super cakey/sweets kinda guy.

I get a ton of plates, but dont really cram a whole lot onto each plate.

I think part of the buffet experience is going up to view the food and decide what to eat next. So I truly dont mind going up to check out the buffet several times. Plus you never know what they may put up, something totally new or maybe just a fresh batch of something that you like.

I sometimes see people with tons on their plate, like they only wanna make one trip or something. Id much rather make several.

True that don't want to get too full to quick. Otherwise you will be wasting money.

Three. Stack one up with everything I can fit on a plate. Another trip to get anything I missed and some seconds of good stuff. A third for dessert.

I cant remember the last time I went to a buffet

Yeah, I like to get a little bit of everything. Well, not everything. Cuts of beef/pork aren't my thing.

I usually have one "serious" plate and then like 4 or 5 "sampler" plates.

Avoid Golden corral at all costs because I think all their food is terrible. Lots of it is loaded up with grease so it makes you feel full fast and kind of sick but then you're hungry an hour later because it was just grease.

In fact there aren't many buffets I like.

i havent eaten at a buffet in 9 years or so. no idea

i havent found buffets worth really bothering with the cost.

im too old to eat that much, like if i stuck with the expensive stuff, i'd die.

I start with a dead animal platter - just meats. After that I diversify but I have lots of Bourbon Street chicken. I probably do four plates.

When I used to eat there I would limit myself to what I could pile on two plates. I didn't want to gain too much weight. :p

too much weight isn't good (lowers our lifespan).

Usually its about 3 at any buffet I used to go to. One of my plates at golden corral would be straight up sauteed mushrooms and whatever steak they got.

(There was this real good chinese place my family used to love to hit up that had a hibachi grill section where the owner will cook something up for you in the wok. I used to absolutely kill that section. Sadly the covid pandemic just ruined this place. Like 70 percent of the items that used to be on the buffet left and never came back and the hibachi grill part was perma shut down. I swear this place had the best fantail shrimp I ever had from a buffet).

Typically one, which is why I don't find buffets worth it.
