The only time I ever complained about an employee is because his breath was so bad I thought I was going to vomit speaking to him.

It depends on how bad and if it has an actual effect on either myself, other coworkers, or customers.

If it's something minor, like they're browsing social media, or watching YouTube videos on the job, I don't really care so long as it doesn't increase my workload. But hard drugs? Nah, that's a line

I let it go to increase the chances that people won't report me for anything. I guess if I saw anyone stealing I'd report it, because I don't want my company to go out of business, obviously.

I'm a supervisor so to some extent I have to call it out. Certianly if someone was doing drugs on the job, I wouldn't stay quiet (doing them outside the job, I couldn't care less). Minor shit though, I usually pretend I didn't see unless it's getting out of hand quantity-wise.

I assume management already knows and doesn't give a shit because those people are useful idiots.

What they really don't want are smart competent workers, who just might know their worth.

imo doing drugs is a minor offense unless it causes you to act out or to poorly operate dangerous equipment.

well, thankfully, i am not a supervisor.

I couldn't care less. The only time I'd complain is when people are in danger or I'm being completely screwed by something someone is doing.

Snitching feels good

When it comes to my job, everyone knows my personal policy when it comes to dicking around on the job.

You can mess up you job all you want, but when you not doing your job prevents me from doing MY job, we have a problem.

When someone comes to me with this kind of snitching I always question their motivations etc. this is why I never snitch myself. I dont think its simply taken at face value.

Dude, your starting example was crack. It's highly addictive can cause a ton of issues including anxiety, anger, hallucinations, paranoia, and more. That's not something I'd want around me at a job.

nah, my team can be late and fuck around all they want as long as they do their jobs, especially the ones that affects mine.

Only if it's something that's going to get someone hurt. If it's just people doing drugs/fucking/sleeping on the job, I don't really care.

I would snitch, absolutely. I don't tolerate anything that could possibly interfere with me getting my shit my done and going home. Anything that could result in even indirect blowback on me I want dealt with quickly to get it out of the way.
