It's a somewhat rare cancer, but research has shown that circumcision reduces the rates. It's not "rampant" anywhere.
Can any links be shown between circumcision rates and incidences of any known diseases? You are really trying hard to avoid explain it.

And even if the penis cancer is rare, it should be clear that there are far more cases per capita in low circumcision nations.

Also, America and a bunch of African nations shouldn't make up most of the top dozen STD rates.

I feel like this discussion went off the rails when people started resorting to personal attacks and insults instead of salient points.

Point is, circumcision reduces the risk of certain cancers. And if I have the choice to reduce a child's risk of cancer vs. not reducing their risk of cancer, I'm gonna choose to reduce the risk 100% of the time. Not even a question.

How far in advance must this alleged cancer be prevented justifies surgical removal of the tissue that may one day cause cancer? You're not preventing cancer in children because the mean age of onset of penile cancer is 67 years of age and even then it's about 1 in 100,000 men who will ever contract it at all. Roughly 1.8 million baby boys are born each year, which translates to an expected 18 cases of penile cancer 60+ years from now.

Also keep in mind that the surgery is not risk-free. A study in Toronto found over a 14 year period 1 in 10,000 neonatal circumcisions resulted in complications requiring hospitalization and one in 83,000 resulted in DEATH. Let that sink in: More babies died from circumcision in the Toronto area than would be expected to ever even get penile cancer, let alone die from it.

Talk about the cure being worse than the disease.

Gob isn't saying the sky is blue. He is insisting circumcision has countless health benefits and then completely ignoring any post that isn't a personal jab.

It's basically the anti-vaxxer thing where you ignore every hard question and study that challenges your stance and then go "Why do you have nothing but insults?" when you get insulted.

What is your response to the fact that you are more likely to die from the circumcision procedure than you are from the cancer it may (evidence disputed) very slightly help to prevent?

It's not just a narrative. It's a fact.

And while penile cancer is rare, phimosis is significantly more likely. UTIs are also much more common in uncircumcised people.

It's not just penis cancer that's being prevented.

It's unfortunate that rare complications sometimes occur during a routine medical procedure.

But there are more than enough benefits (lower cancer risk, no phimosis, much lower UTI risk) to make the procedure worth doing. Complications can happen to anybody, unfortunately. It's just the nature of medical procedures.

People sometimes die at the dentist, too. It's a risk we all take. Fortunately, the chance is very low of anything serious happening.

The chances of circumcision preventing penile cancer (a disease of the elderly) are less than the chances of circumcision resulting in death (in infancy).

It is therefore indefensible to circumcise in order to slightly reduce the chances of getting penile cancer as an elderly man, as you have argued throughout this thread.

Your dogmatic approach and reliance on deflection do not disguise the fact that you have nothing but a personal and emotional preference for circumcision, and that is no justification for advocating the practice on those who cannot yet choose for themselves.

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) first acknowledged that there was no medical justification for routine circumcision in 1971. Last year, the AAP reaffirmed that it does not recommend routine circumcision. The American Medical Association concurred this year, calling routine circumcision non-therapeutic. No national or international medical organization recommends routine circumcision.

First one I found. If you want to find more you can google.
