Investigators from the National Transportation Safety Board on Tuesday said evidence shows four bolts that hold the door plug in place on the Boeing 737 Max 9 were missing at the time of last months blowout on Alaska Airlines flight 1282.
The bombshell new finding from federal investigators comes one month and a day after the January 5 incident that triggered a 19-day emergency grounding of all Max 9s, and re-ignited scrutiny of Boeing following the fatal Max 8 crashes of 2018 and 2019.

Please dont fly on these planes if you can avoid it.

Isn't it up to the airlines to maintain their planes correctly? Why is this a Boeing problem?

There are photos from boeing employees showing the bolts were never there lmao.

Please dont defend Boeing. They are responsible for hundreds of deaths with the defective 737 max.

Yeah the 737 max is a result of Boeing's managerial shift from engineering to profits. They distain their QA for holding up assembly and are pushing for self checks.

Not defending anyone, I don't know how airline maintenance works but in my mind if you take delivery of a plane and fly it with bolts missing that's on you.

So the airline is supposed to disassemble the planes they get so they can check every bolt now? lol

Not defending Boeing, but the bolts were missing from an assembly delivered by a contractor. The QA is still on them, as is the obvious point that if a contractor was hired because they were cheap, not for any technical edge.
