I loved Abyss so much that it ruined the series for me. Kept comparing all the other ones I played to it and felt disappointed

They need to remaster this.

Tales of the Abyss is that game that I consider below Tales of Berseria, but I did play it before that and on 3ds and was the what the fuck is happening I don't understand the politics, I don't understand the terminology, but eventually it settles into this moment.

Where it made sense. I never finished it on my 3ds. But I think that'd be a candidate for a new game plus and with some knowledge. Also Tear is attractive. With her shy long hair cut.

Never played the actual game, but Persona 2 has a great one.

Soul Hackers 1 has a great intro the one on the JPN Saturn. Which I own and was playing through a long time ago. It's just so nuts balls to the wall. But P2 kicks.

The discussion is strange b/c Tales has more throw away ago but also OMG Star Ocean still gets releases.

Also imo Star Ocean Faithless game didn't feel absolute fucking worthless but I got it cheap before Tales of Berseria and then Persona 5 OG came out.

My first Tales game was Symphonia, but I feel like Abyss will always be the best in my heart.

Wild Arms 2 is unmatched

I've tried to play Abyss twice now and despite enjoying it a lot never managed to get through it. Handhelds just don't hold my attention these days.

Played some other Tales games, but Berseria is the only one I really loved and finished.

Yeah, it needs a proper rerelease on modern console like Tales of Symphonia (except not locked at 30fps).

Its one of the best Tales games, but if I had to give one criticism it would be the obvious padding of game length when you have to backtrack to different areas. They should of shaved 5-10 hours off the game and it would of been perfect.

From my own experiences of the series, it goes:

Symphonia (first played and maybe best cast aside from Lloyd and Collette being kinda lame)
Abyss (most compelling plot and interesting characters, but felt really awkward at times too)
Symphonia II (was drinking over a handle every weekend so it was strangely captivating)
Phantasia (was drinking over a handle every weekend so it was very rage-inducing and this was the GBA version)
