And yeah I'm going there. I feel the concern and handling of media deemed iffy is more on those who think certain problems aren't worth concern.

Yes but only to the extent that I can actually do something about a problem. I don't worry myself sick like I used to about shit I have zero control or influence over. I just work on myself, focus on my immediate community, and stay prepared for whatever comes.

No. I absolutely do not care about anything relating to politics. It's nothing but a chess game where groups of people get used for one goal or another. Shit's no different than a religion or sporting event, people destroy each other over the dumbest shit. So yeah I'd rather focus on what brings my loved ones and me happiness.

@STEROLIZER
If nothing else, claiming apathy only to complain about not receiving consideration is such a politician thing to do from those trying to avoid politics.

Plus it's like those who clarify disliking the far right as well as the far left. Claiming the neutral grounds, but focusing on one side instead of both or none at all.

Eh I just don't like it when politics(both sides) somehow find their way into shows that are meant to be goofy and funny. Family Guy for instance. Sometime around the mid to late 00s, MacFarlane made it into a soapbox for his political views. That's why I stopped watching. Yes I am aware that MacFarlane doesn't write for the show anymore. I just wanted to say I watched Family Guy hoping to get some laughs. Not have politics shoved in my face.

Also politics is one of those things that should be kept out of places such as a workplace as it's a pretty sensitive subject. When you're working with or around a bunch of other people, there's bound to be some that have different views. I've read about actors on TV shows and movies having animosity towards their co-stars or crew members because they have different views and are pretty outspoken about them.

Have you considered that's impossible to not have politics in anything since literally everyone's lives are entirely dependent on politics? Everything you have or don't have is because of politics and that can all turn on a dime the moment the wrong politics take over. You literally cannot even leave your house and drive on a road without politics. Not caring about politics is basically saying you don't care about society. Unless you live in the woods completely cut off from the world and all other human beings, you cannot escape it.

Even A Christmas Carol counts in that regard, especially pushing the idea that one of wealth should look out for his fellow people.

I don't see how say superhero and Star Trek especially can't be seen as Left oriented as by default it's about changing things for the better.

Mean you could easily just say that's having a theme of greed/generosity betterment of mankind. I don't see what that has to do with political parties.

So then how come some people acted like taking precautions for Covid in 2020 was some political agenda?

Because people are stupid and love to try to make everything about politics. Getting a shot was political and not wanting to get one was political. But again yeah it's dumb.

Conservatives advocate for greed through the conservation of wealth in the hands of the few. It is very much political.

People advocating for keeping a small selection of people rich sounds like universal human sinful nature rather than "politics".

Ehh. Besides it reeking of say MRA mentality, part of the problem with say something like victim blaming in a traditional rape case is dismissive of those who handle their urges in a healthy manner.

And the whole "Everybody is equally an ass-hole" is just for those in the wrong not to feel guilty.

Where in my post did I say I didn't care about politics at all? The point of my second paragraph is that it's not a good idea to be talking politics at work as it can really create a toxic culture and breed mistrust, which can really diminish teamwork and collaboration.

Some message boards prohibit political discussions because 9 times out of 10 they lead to nothing but insults, threats, flaming and the like.

I can definitely agree that we need to give ourselves time to unwind like anything of practical importance, just that sometimes you can't always avoid tension at the most inconvenient moments and letting any possible problems boil up can do just as much harm.

And yeah, even then, positive change means having to be the buzzkill. I mean if a child can be scolded and punished for less problematic things than say bigotry, why should an adult guilty of such get leniency?

I mean at least again I still feel the pandemic really gives the feeling like it's at this point people who believe in looking out for others besides just themselves and those in their circle VS people who believes in everyone for themselves.

If say those shirking the pandemic concerns were just randos, I'd get presuming that the attribution to politics were just a loud minority. But our then still President was also encouraging disregard for simple courtesies no different than say cellphones off at a movie or cigarettes out in certain areas.

I mean humans are equally assholes. We could apocalypse the world a thousand times over, have society restart from zero but every time regardless of political factions, It's in human nature commit atrocities just as much as it is to have compassion.
