I'm a lifelong fan who started back with the very first games here in the United States.

It makes me feel really old even though I'm only 31.

Yeah. That's the hardest I was into it. Once Gen 3 came out, my interest plummeted, and never really got back to it.

Yes. It was huge when it first released here. My friends and I watched the show, played red/blue on Gameboy and collected the trading cards.

Yep... Parents took me to buy Pokemon Blue when it came out and I loved the show as a kid...

I'm still always playing Pokemon... Usually replaying older gets or shiny hunting on newer ones...

Nope. I was never into card games and I thought the cartoon was too repetitive. I started liking the games in the mid 2000s.

The funny thing was I went and bought Wild 9 for PS1 because that was the game I was hyped about, and got Pokemon Red with it because I had some extra money. It wasn't huge yet, and all I knew about it was "This is really popular in Japan and the cartoon gave kids seizures".

Pokemon ended up being the one I was hooked on.

You're missing out. Some really great anime out there. And it's a medium that has pretty much every genre, so there's something for everyone.

Yeah

I remember watching the first episode of pokemon when it first aired. I don't remember why, but my older brother was really interested in it so all of us sat down to watch it. (Both my older brother and sister stopped watching before it ended, though my brother did get into a bit later)

I loved it.

Pokemon hit me like a ton of bricks. I was 7 years old, saw the first episode, and that was it. Hooked for 3 generations, but then my family couldn't afford a DS and my little brother deleted my Ruby save. That killed pokemon for me until like gen 7.

Yes - I was sent a VHS tape from my local Toys R Us in the mail hyping the new Pokemon phenomenon before the games were out and before the show ever aired on TV. I watched on TV when it started airing and played the games when they came out. I played through Gen 1+2, collected Pokemon cards, but as I got older I ditched the cards and stopped playing the games.

Later as an adult I went back and re-played all of them. Although I started with FRLG rather than the original RBY, mainly so I could play through and trade my Pokemon up through each game. I still have most of the living dex on Pokemon Home, just recently beat Sword for the first time.

I regret ditching my cards back in the day, if I kept them I'd have a bunch that were worth something. I still have the VHS and the original Gameboy carts for RBY + G.

I can understand that point. I don't like TTG, Ben 10 Reboot and Thundercat ROAR for their art style and writing. I am not a fan of Adventure Time art style, but its writing does get better.

I completely understand what you mean that you don't like anime art style. But the overly stimulating and chaotic animation that I don't understand.
What cartoon do you like to watch?

I am not saying this to get you into anime, but when it comes to anime there are many types. There are anime type that I don't know that exist. There are action, adventure, martial arts, sports, cards, E-Sport, virtual reality, reincarnation, musical, etc. Every day there are new anime episode that gets released.
