I would say about 90k is the bare minimum but anything under 175 you really might be better with it being a two income household.

Varies WILDLY by where you live.
NYC or coastal CA cities would cost like 3x or 4x what it would in Middle of Nowhere, Indiana.

So... anywhere from $50K to $150K, minimum. Depending on location.

Entirely dependent on geography. Where I live in the Midwest in farm country and cheap cost of living you can live a pretty good life on modest amounts of money.

I'm single, but I made $46,000 as a teacher (now I make $55,000 in marketing). Two different areas of NC. One in an urban area. The new job in the coastal plains.

I actually have the exact same amount of money now as I did when I was teaching because the cost of living is so much higher near the coast.

Does "support" mean survival mode or does it include things like private education, ability to afford medical care, and self-sufficiency in retirement? Because there's an an order of magnitude income range between the extremes.

You couldnt pay me enough to put up with four children so the answer is infinity.

alright fine. I will do it for $10,000,000,000 a year. A least on that salary I can send them to military school or hire an attractive nanny.

My father supported our family by himself making less than $50,000 a year. Granted that was a long time ago, and cost of living has gone up since then.
