If teen years aren't the transition, what is?

Like I said, you don't go to bed one night with the mental maturity of a child and wake up the next morning as an adult. Should we consider 17 a child and 18 thru 23 to be transitional? If you're attracted to a 20-year-old, you're attracted to someone who is a half-step up from being a child?

If you're worried about semantics, I would argue "youth" is a good term for a teen. It's a reminder that they have a long way to go, and that they're not to be sexualized or pursued romantically by adult-adults, but it still doesn't infantilize them by placing them in the same category as a 7-year-old.
why are you making it sexual again? I would say you should stop while youre ahead, but youre past that point

Or maybe, just maybe, they're still children, and people are smart enough to realize that word encompasses a large age group of varying levels of development, instead of getting hung up on the word itself.

Absolutely bizarre thing to get hung up on and insist on having the last word about, but this type of pedantry is par for the course for you.

I dislike infantilization.

When people speak socially or politically of teenagers as children, they mean they're elementary school students who are a little taller. We need to protect their impressionable young minds from bad words and bad imagery.

This is entirely your own interpretation. It's also incorrect.

If we want to get technical, ages 10-19 is roughly the development period labeled as adolescence.

Like bruh there is such a world of difference between being deployed as MILITARY PERSONNEL and voluntarily uprooting your life and going somewhere else

I cant even tell if this is supposed to be serious anymore thats just such a bizarre comparison

The point is that it's doable. It's not impossibly hard as is implied on this thread.

I PCSed between the US and South Korea 8 times in a 20-year span.

Roughly once every 2 to 3 years.

It is easy when you have money. It's doable for the average joe.

Pay an immigration lawyer to file your paperwork for you. Then fly out and hire a guide to show you around the places you are interested.

Speak to a realtor to buy a place.

Then hire a moving company to get your stuff from here to there.

Unpack.

And continue to use the immigration lawyers to set up your taxpayer number, public health service registration, in-country bank account, drivers license exchange, etc.

Shit, I did it 2 years ago. IT WASN'T HARD.

And I'm not filthy rich like Tom Holland.

And also leave behind everyone you know and love and start a new life on the other side of the planet. While also continting a career that has now gotten 10x harder, logistically.

That may not be a big deal to you. But it is to most people. And money doesn't fix that. Tom Holland has a life. A family. Zendaya. Zendaya's life and family. It's a lot to ask. And no, the military, who basically hold you at gunpoint and say "move or go to prison" is not an apt comparison. Especially when plenty of military personnel report strains on nearly all their personal relationships as a consequence. But you'll find a LOT of very difficult and painful decisions magically get a lot easier to make when there are life-destroying ultimatums leveled at you.

The entire process, from birth to death, is one great big transition. 16 is still considered to be a child the vast majority of the time, regardless of how you feel about it.

Tom Holland seems like a very down to Earth and humble kind of guy and I respect him for that.

Him and Zendaya are like the only celebrity couple I even mildly care about because they're so good for each other, but also he doesn't try to make it about him.

It's definitely a double edged sword when it comes to fame. Sure you have the freedom to spend money on anything but you can't eat at a restaurant or go to the shops on a whim without it becoming a big deal. In a way it's exchanging some freedoms for others.

Being rich and not famous would be much better.

Not sure why people get so bitter and angry when they talk about it. At the end of the day they're just people as well. If he decides to have kids with Zendaya pictures of that kid becomes a valuable commodity. It's a really fucking weird life.

When your entire life is a business and a resource to a lot of people it changes the dynamics with everyone in your life. It's probably worth it but the grass is always greener as they say.

That's the way Leonard Leo has lived his life.

Dude has been pulling the strings behind rich right-wing operations for decades and is noted as saying he prefers to stay out of the limelight. He literally introduced Clarence Thomas to Harlan Crowe.
