I can't believe this is their first attempt at a Soulslike (Bblike?) and it is just excellent.

I just beat the Puppet Devouring Swamp Monster and the fight was rad as fuck.

I've seen some say that it's the first Souls-like that actually feels like a FromSoft game, and that's probably the highest praise you can give. I'm pretty interested, just been busy with other games and other stuff to catch up on.

It's actually free on Gamepass right now. It's how I'm playing it.

It looked ok but it looked exactly like Bloodborne. Was it different enough to be its own thing?

Its Sekiro + BB, it has higher emphasis on perfect guards than dodging (plus the legion arm is just like the shinobi prosthetic). Weapon customization is great as well as most of the boss fights

I liked Lords of the Fallen (2023) better.

Oh huh. I LOVED Sekiro, and BB was my second favorite From game. I just couldn't tell if the game was its own thing or just a From copy/ripoff

It's a pretty good game though I have a couple of complaints. One is that the game is too linear. It's literality just one straight line. There is some exploration in the area's themselves but they all lead to the area boss whos' exit leads to the next area. No secret areas or bosses.

I didn't think it was easier. I didn't find Lies of P all that hard, you just had less control over builds and choices. But the type of build they encouraged me to use in Lies of P was something that was already in my wheelhouse anyway, just running a melee build with a big weapon is basically what I run in any "souls-like".

It took me longer to beat Lords of the Fallen. I played as a mage in Lords of the Fallen just to mix it up, I got tired of playing big weapon builds.

I am not inclined to play something with a name that sounds that silly. Plus, no interest in a soulslike.

Lies of P goes fucking hard.
Badas game.

Wait until the endgame bosses. It also feels so good getting perfect guards in this game. Getting a perfect guard on the swamp monster as it charges at you in a flurry and hearing the clang is so cool.
