Yes i bought ff16, got about 10 hours in. It was fine. Didn't hate it or anything just sort of stopped playing it. I'll get back to it at some point. But the main reason I got the ps5 is for ff7 rebirth (and hopefully part 3) so I'm sure i'll get plenty of use out of it then.

It was satisfying seeing all the late scalpers cry over losing money.

it was a legendary feat back then to land one when buying against the scalpers others paid the ransom to have the console from them.

around what time was the ps5 shortage the greatest? i forget

Picked the disc version at launch and its still in its box. Once I built a gaming PC, I have little need for consoles unless theres exclusives. Maybe GTA6 will be the title for me to break it out.

i remember trying to get it on sony direct i was so close until they ran out.

Didn't it take a while for GTA5 to come out for PC? Might be the same for GTA6. As for getting the system at launch. I had the Best Buy website on and kept refreshing over and over and the site crashing constantly. But it was getting late at night and I figure some people would let up and I was right. It finally let me preorder.

I dont really need one as the PS5ks exclusives seem to mostly be coming to PC 6 months to 3 years after release, but Im considering getting one to replace the PS4 to play PS4 games with better performance, and for the odd PS5 exclusive which may not come over, like the Demons Souks remaster.

Ive been using a Dual Sense Edge as my primary controller since it came out. I love it, but the battery life is shit as has always been the case for PS controllers. It needs charged every day or two. The Xbox Elite Series 2 probably needs charged once a week or two. The Switch Pro controller has like 80 hours of battery life or something absurd like that.

By the time PS5s became available to readily purchase, I no longer wanted one. I had since moved on to upgrading my PC. Over a year after launch, I literally couldn't find one for sale that wasn't over MSRP, so I gave up on it.

the xbox elite controller does not use aa batteries? the regular series x controller does?

Nope. Honestly Id prefer it using regular AA batteries. All lithium ion batteries weaken over time, and eventually you have to replace the device because the battery has gone to shit. This is the main reason people get new phones as often as they do.

With regular AA batteries, you can just buy a couple sets of eneloop rechargeable batteries, and when one set needs charged you can swap in the other one. When the batteries are too weak to hold a good charge,,throw them away and get new batteries.

this. i used rechargeable AA batteries for my wii controller.

worked pretty well, one set died you put in the other set and it's ready to go.

By that I take it you mean you never even opened it? That's weird man, that's weird. Practically unbelievable.

I wanted one, but got a Series S. Consoles are basically for chilling in the living room, and there hasn't been any exclusives for anything good enough for me to care this generation, so I got what played best with my PC.

...I'll still probably get a PS5 eventually if it goes on a good sale.
