You made the claim they were built in areas that didnt need them. When YOU make the claim, YOU have to provide evidence.

Basic logic and debate etiquette dictates that if you make the claim, you provide evidence.

You say something happened. It's not on us to prove that whatever you invented didn't happen. Prove that it did.

The one thing I haven't seen people touch on which I think is a bigger deal is that just building wells doesn't mean he's helping. Are we certain the places where he's building wells were having water issues in the first place?

In the video he was walking with school kids carrying buckets and jugs a mile away from the school to some disgusting water hole. They were getting diarrhea and other illnesses from drinking it.

If the Kenyan government still has people living like this then it is a failure. Might as well take the L and not complain about outsiders helping.

I would not call using altruistic-branded charity that he directly benefits from as content a good example of humility, exactly.

I think it's fair to say that he's probably as humble as a multi-millionaire using recorded footage of his charitable actions can be in such a situation, though.

It's possible that despite good intentions he built wells in areas that didn't need wells built. It's also possible these wells don't really solve the problem either.

I see no one talking about whether or not the wells built are actually solving a problem when it comes to discourse around this video and I wouldn't put it past any content creator doing good deeds for content to being do so from an optics stand point and not a functional one.

Ah that one guy who thought his videos would get more views if thumbnails were "better" even though the entirety of his videos are made to game the system to get the views to begin with including the thumbnails.

Who cares what the motives are if someone is doing objectively good deeds. LBJ dropped a hard R every day of his life and still got the most progressive agenda through since FDR.

it's funny that people say that rich people don't help but then when they do help they complain about them helping, it's like people only want the desire to help but don't want to actually help, mr beast is angry people because he's breaking the virtue signaling crap and actually helping and that makes people mad, how can they virtue signaling that people need help if they are being helped?

Depends on how the profit is gained and where it's extracted from. Not all profit is a net good, nor all extraction methods ethical or healthy for all members of a functioning society.

Outrage warriors are bad actors that care more about hating those they see as being imperfect rather than helping the downtrodden. The sooner people cancel their "activism" the better off society will be.

I am talking with a girl born and raised in Nairobi right this moment who had NO idea MrBeast or King Charles III had been in Kenya recently.

Most people don't give a fuck over there. But if the Kenyan gov't cared so much about MrBeast being there and doing shit that they think embarrasses them, they should have started digging and drilling a long time ago.

Who would they rather pave the roads? A YouTuber whose perceived only goal is profit from YouTube and sponsors?

Perhaps they'd rather get in bed with Chinese backers that absolutely have, are, and will continue to take advantage of governments across the African continent with infrastructure projects financed by loans the African governments can't possibly be paid back?
