This is bad. That also means 3 out of 5 phase 5 titles are rotten on rottentomatoes. I actually dug phase 4 but phase 5 minus gotg 3 has been terrible (cant comment on loki s2 without seeing the end).

The internet has a weird thing at acting like a movie that was a coin flip for if a reviewer liked it or not should be universally hated. I feel some of the best films are going to be the ones that are in the 40-60 range as the decades come and go.

Wow so it went down from 55% already.

RT scores don't always mean much. Godzilla: King of the Monsters got 42% RT and that movie was awesome. The critics complained that the movie focused on monster battles too much.

I wonder if it's even any worse than the Phase 1 and 2 movies or if people and critics are just feeling bored by the average stuff now.

There was a time when an okay superhero movie was still better than the average superhero movie. That is no longer the case.

The issues sound pretty similar to a lot of older Marvel movies. The chemistry between the heroes is the highlight. The villain sucks.

The short runtime also leads to a feeling of it being a bit underbaked too.

Overall though I don't really understand why they thought the follow up to Captain Marvel and Ms Marvels debut movie should be some freaky Friday type of plot. It almost seemed set up to fail with everything leading up to this. Why does a billion dollar movie get a spin off team up thing instead of a proper sequel? Weird decision through and through. I don't think it's a coincidence that the stuff building off Disney+ have been the biggest failures.

James Gunn is pretty good at what he does. DC couldn't have picked a better person to lead their ship. If DC fails after this, there is no hope for that franchise.

Actors are important and can make a bad movie enjoyable, but it starts with the writers and directors to make a good movie. Even then, I think the directors have been solid picks. Raimi is great at what he does and always is able to add a unique flair to his movies (I think there were some really enjoyable scenes in the MoM and the acting itself was fine). He got a lot of blame for that movie, with some calling him a hack, but people need to start looking at writers here.

Its very close though. I dont think it deserves a 63%. But thats just me.

seeing The Marvels in 2 hours so hopefully I do enjoy it. Secret Invasion really lost me but Loki won me back
