For those who don't know, the Senate passed a bill last year that would make DST (the time we're on in most of the U.S. from March to November) permanent, but it was never passed by the House. So for now we're left still falling back to Standard Time in November until DST starts back up again in March.

Make it permanent. In the winter time on Standard Time it gets dark at 4pm, that sucks. No need to fall back an hour

Make it permanent. Less people will whine about being sad in winter if they have more daylight they can enjoy in the afternoon/evening.

I think it should be set by the state according to what the state deems most rational. I imagine a state further North would prefer one time over a state further South, maybe.

Meh, we already went through it. I suggest we put it off until later. I'm sure we'll have a solution before next year.

Yeah. Like year round DST in Maine would be way different than year round DST in Florida. Florida would do well with year round standard, while Maine could probably get away with year round DST.

I feel like this idea would complicate things for people who live on borders between states or maybe for people who travel a lot. If time are different between states within the same timezones it sounds like a huge hassle.

Yeah but this sort of situation already exists, like at least one state (Arizona) already sticks to one time per year. Also there are the people who border time zones, too.
