Good on him.

I just watched the video. I laughed and cried and did both at the same time. Anyone who can sit there and scoff at this isnt human. These people were so happy to get water. Not only that but he made a new bridge, gave kids like 100 bikes and new school computers.

Also I just watched a video from over a year ago with a similar title but he only got two wells built. During the video he said: "Id like to talk about our sponsor and take the money from that and use the money to build more in the future because I know you think we have unlimited money but we really dont". So he literally did this in the past and followed through on his promise. So up yours, to the people who were like, WhY didNT he buiLd 1000 weLLs huH?

Maybe one day he will use a normal video thumbnail and I too can enjoy a guy funding the building of wells.

Because that's the entire 10 minutes of the video, duh. You just stare at the thumbnail for the whole video without any sound. Apparently people think that's the only content he makes, they never see him traveling to Kenya, Zimbabwe or Somalia.

Thats not a Mr. beast problem though. Apparently a lot of big YouTubers make thumbnails like this because it apparently works to draw in views.

That's 100% true because Mr Beast himself says that's his business model. The money generated from a video goes towards his next video where he helps people. Extra money also gets donated to charity, mainly food banks.

I don't see anything wrong with that.

And despite all that, he is STILL more wealthy by the age of 25 than some people will be in 5 lifetimes.

Also, that plane ride has got to be what? 16 hours? Kenya is easily 10000km away from even its closest points to the USA.

His thumbnails look stupid, yes, but he has spend an absurd number of hours studying youtube, so he knows what works.

I've seen a few handfuls of Mr. Beast videos and I generally like him. If you watch interviews with him he seems very business oriented. Before he got big he spent all day making, editing and talking about youtube videos. His first big break, as far as I can tell, is the video where he counts to one million or some other large number in one sitting. The idea itself is stupid, yes, but I enjoyed a click through to see how tired he gets and how he reacts when he is finally done. Youtube is stupid and unpredictable but he knows what works.

I respect his work ethic and his charitable endevours. I've never given him a cent directly having never had Beast burger or any of his food or merch. I've seen like 20 of his videos throughout the last 5 or so years.

Complaining about him seems silly. If people are helped, I really don't care if he makes a video to advertise it.

To me it just screams a lack of authenticity but i know that the thumbnails are necessary for more views.

I don't think he would. He's spent an absurd number of hours studying these things, and so his thumbnails are a science.

Yes, I think they look stupid. A lot of people do. But if you have a global audience, most aren't thinking.

Its all about the YT algorithms though Ive been watching a lot of HPRshredders retro gaming videos lately. Guy isnt super popular yet or anything, but I like his voice and the videos always have an interesting, chill vibe.

Anyway, he talks specifically about obnoxious thumbnails in one of his vids. Basically, he hated them and originally planned on never doing any stupid ones with his face, but then he tried it one time and the YT algorithm ended up spreading out the vid to a much larger extent, which he wasnt expecting at all.

So, necessary evil, pretty much. Although with how big Mr Beast is now Im sure he could stop and it wouldnt make much of a difference at all.

I still remember when ppl were posting sexy thumbnails cause that got clicks.

I think calling stupid looking thumbnails a "necessary evil" is a little extreme.

It's basically part of his brand at this point.

Not gonna lie, whenever a YT vid is posted here from an unknown source on something political it always has a shitty thumbnail that repulses me from any interest so it's interesting to learn that it's something their industry almost demands of them in order to achieve their goals and dreams for their channel.

It's a shame, however it's definitely not a reason to hate on the creators themselves. We're all trying to be successful in this world, if shitty thumbnails is the price they have to pay that doesn't seem too high compared to what others feel they have to do.

They likely wouldn't because it's quality YT attention whoring for likes AND hate views that is influenced by algorithms.
