Lennon's voice and the piano were too quiet in the original, and the mixers at the time couldn't boost either in a way that you would actually like the end result. Thus with the improvements in technology they were able to remix the whole affair where you can hear both without having either come out as screwed up. --- "A shouted order to do something of dubious morality with an unpredictable outcome?
