I hate sites that do this; I shouldn't have to turn it off. If you don't like adblocker, that shouldn't be my problem.

Worst is when you go to read some news site, and it is like pls turn off ad block, only for it to overwhelm you with ads down both sides and ads every few paragraphs. And websites wonder why so many people use adblockers. I would not mind getting rid of ad blockers if websites were not overrun with ads. ... Copied to Clipboard!

The problem is that more of the reputable news sites are moving to paywalls. Reuters is probably the biggest recent example. Surely though there is some kind of balancing trade-off. Maybe instead of the situation being win-win for the news site and no account free loading consumer, it's a balance for the news site. These reputable news sites will be filled with trepidation at the drop off in their web traffic as the no account free loaders stop visiting their website, making them reconsider their stance. Otherwise, we're just dealing with a society that's better off by screwing over the free loaders who have been using ad block, and that can't actually be the case can it? --- Will the little voice in the back of my mind screaming "This is a bad idea" please yield the floor. --Mikey Chivalry be hanged, and so will you. ...
