Looks great. 1 to 1 with the original voice acting is cool too. Hopefully this will be the definitive way to play MGS3

It really looks great visually. I'm really hoping Konami doesn't fuck this up, 3 is my favorite MGS game

Meh. You had people on here claiming 1:1 remakes are just glorified remasters a few days back. I hope they add some new functionality and QOL improvements at least.

this looks really good, tbh.

if this is a 1:1 remake, outside of visuals, I wouldn't mind too much, but I hope they do something about some of the menus, like no longer having to pause to eat/heal or use camo.

but admittedly, it might be difficult for the latter.

Yeah, the problem is that "remake" and "remaster" are ill-defined and often used interchangably

I'd argue that 1:1 is a "remaster" and a change-everything is a "remake"

Dead Space and Resident Evil have proven you can fix what ain't broken, so I kinda wish they were doing some new things.

Thank God crouch walking is in the game. I recently went back to try and play the Snake Eater HD collection version and it felt almost unplayable without it after playing MGS4/5.

I really don't want a 1:1 remake. Then it's just playing the same game but prettier. I want a game closer to what Kojima wanted to do with MGS3, instead of the game with all the hardware restrictions.

A full sprawling jungle instead of it being a series of rooms, AI that doesn't have horse blinds on, more dynamic animal behavior, and, for the love of god, an option for modern controls.

No. The level design, story and dialogue is exactly the same with new visuals and some QOL stuff.

I hated everything. Link looked wrong, destructible boulders look wrong , just everything was scaled up the wrong way to me.

Ngl I think the colors are all off and that bothers me. The OG game had a distinct, dreamy look of orange, green and teal not because of technical restrictions but as a deliberate choice. This looks like it lacks a ton of style.

Most games from that era went the "brown and bloom" route to the point of cliche

Question is...does Konami still know how to make games? I hope it isnt 100% 1-1 cause thats boring, but at the same time I dont trust this new Konami to add stuff that makes it better. Hopefully QOF improvements at least. Take what worked from newer MGSs

From what I understand this is the same exact game with improved visuals and some QOL stuff like crouch walking (which I believe was added to the 3DS version).

And for some reason they're using shitty Unreal instead of the FOX engine the best engine ever made

I assume they are using UE5 because they do not want to invest the resources to update FOX for next gen consoles. At least not for this project.

Yes I figured this was a lazy shitty remake a long time ago when they said they were literally using the exact same voice acting from the original

What I would really like is a remake of Metal Gear 1 and 2. It's kind of hilarious that what I consider the pivot point of the whole series in terms of the overarching story are these MSX games. All the Big Boss games build up to them and all the Solid Snake games are the fallout afterwards.

Looking forward to seeing more of the characters.

I really hope they do remakes for mgs 1 and 2, along with mg and mg2 eventually. I'm sure whether or not this sells will be a big key in the deciding factor though.
