I watched both of those shows growing up. Three's Company in the early 80's when I was real young and then Step by Step started in the early 90's when I was in high school. I thought Step by Step was pretty good at the time. I enjoyed Patrick Duffy from Dallas so at first it was strange seeing him in a comedy. I really liked Staci Keanan previously from My Two Dads and she was about my age.

She was an ever-present part of TV generation that came of age in the 80s and 90s, playing both one of the most memorable "dumb blonde" characters in American TV history and later playing the matriarch of a blended family in a modernized take on the Brady Bunch. Say what you will about her, she knew how to deliver a punch line and looked absolutely great doing it.

I used to watch Threes Company on Nick and Nite in the late 90s when I thought it was so cool to be up late during summer vacation. Hilarious show. The fact I can even rememebr it.

I think the reason for this was because this was during the times where unmarried men and women living together was heavily frowned upon. There was a episode where Janet's parents came to visit and her and Jack pretended to be married.

Some people on the show really didn't have a problem with it. Like Mrs Roper. In the second episode, she finds out that Jack wasn't gay, but keeps it a secret from her husband. And I don't think Mr Furley would have had an issue if he actually knew that Jack wasn't gay. He was the landlord, however it was his brother that owned the building and Furley explained that his brother wouldn't allowed an unmarried man to live with two women. However Furley didn't really like his brother, so he could have also been a secret keeper like Mrs Roper.

Yeah, I knew that. Probably shot the first episodes in 1975.

A bit weird when you think a TV show had that element in it damn near 50 years ago and yet today things still aren't ironed out.
