Then-assistant district attorney Eliot Spitzer led the investigation that ultimately brought them down, figuring out a way to break into the duos office to plant a bug by using Con Ed trucks on a phony repair call, by picking locks, switching off alarms, and evading motion detectors then listening to hundreds of hours of tapes, according to New York Magazine.this legal? --- http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lu9sfueDC81qfb808.png ... this legal? Probably needed to get a warrant. Gotta present very strong evidence of a crime to a judge to obtain it though. --- Putin delenda est ... Copied to Clipboard!

His dad, Carlo Gambino, is still the GOAT.
Despite all of the atrocious he's committed and orchestrated. He died peacefully of old age in his NYC home. Man, what a life, and what a way to go. --- S / K / Y / N / E ... Copied to Clipboard!

His dad, Carlo Gambino, is still the GOAT. Which, as everyone knows, is rare for that line of work. Sounds like he only did one stint in prison too. More time than I'd ever want to do in prison, but again, rare for that line of work. --- Putin delenda est ... Copied to Clipboard!

Gambino despised drugs, and even though heroin and cocaine were highly lucrative, he thought that they would also attract attention. The punishment for a family member dealing drugs, in Gambino style, was death --- "We would have no NBA possibly if they got rid of all the flopping." ~ Dwyane Wade ... Copied to Clipboard!

Sounds like avoiding drugs helped him avoid long stretches of prison time.

The no drugs was almost definitely a factor in him not going to prison when he should have and the discipline of his group to not off him to get that drug money was a testament to his leadership and their loyalty, Drug money is huge and criminals are greedy the fact that he managed to avoid all that while being a criminal and only dying of natural causes with no regrets or remorse is damn near absurd no hollywood writer would be able to do make a film about a mafioso like that because it'd be panned as being too unrealistic.

Lots of mob bosses said they were against drugs, but we're secretly profiting from drugs. Carlo had cousins, the Cherry Hill Gambinos of NJ, that imported heroin and were linked with the big Pizza Connection case. Carlo's cousin, brother and law, and underboss Paul Castellano was also involved with drugs but preached against them.
Saying drug dealing was banned meant the bosses and their close members could reap all the profits from it and gave them excuses to kill underlings who got caught dealing drugs and faced long term prison sentences in case they flipped. --- http://i.imgur.com/hslUvRN.jpg When I sin I sin real good. ...
