Not clearing the way for a stupid wall isn't "lawless". Seriously, these are some really bad excuses. You know what isn't a good look? Being elected as a democrat claiming to be against the border wall and then expediting that wall by bypassing environmental regulations.
If the law says that the funds go to DHS and they need a way to use them as they were originally appropriated for, then the president has to comply. I don't see what is so difficult to understand here. All options to delay and re-appropriate funds were already exhausted.

If the law says that the wall must first clear things like environmental protections, then the president does NOT have to do anything. Not doing anything is enough to get it to be at least delayed *lawfully*. I don't see what is so difficult to understand here.

Also, wasn't the wall authorized by executive order in the first place? Just issue another executive order to stop it.

Apparently it is difficult for some to understand that DHS can't proceed using the funds if such laws are in place. It has been delayed since 2019 when congress, not the executive branch, first appropriated the funds.

Biden asked to reappropriate the funds, that never happened, so here we are months before the end of 2023. So it's not as simple as "just not do anything" if he's required by law to allow DHS to move forward by that time. Executive orders still have to work within the law, they can't issue funds and deny DHS the ability to use them.

This. Remember when Democrats complained that Trump's trade war against China was hurting US industries? Now that Biden continued much of Trump's policies, there is suddenly quiet in the media with Democrats gushing about how much a patriot Biden is.

Apparently it's incredibly difficult just for you, and only you in this topic, to understand that Biden doesn't have to push aside environmental regulations to fast-track a border wall he claimed to be against.

Trump had a policy on trade besides talking shit on twitter?

Nah, I'm interpreting the facts that are already out there available to everyone. You're throwing it out there that there's just gotta be something that Biden can do that his entire administration has missed, which is pretty laughable. "Just don't do it", brilliant! Also against the law as has already been laid out. You're convincing no one here.

Missed is not the verb I would use.

Oh, you think I should have gone with "ignored"? Should he have done an executive order to deny the funds from being used? He complied with the law is what he did. If there was another option I'm certain they would have went with that. I haven't read any armchair lawyer opinions on this but I'm always open to learning and admitting to ignorance.

Where in the law does it say Biden has to go around the law to accelerate the building of the wall?

Oh no, see the onus is on you to provide the other options he has available and how those options can work within the law. He says his hands were tied and that he's complying with the law. Funds were appropriated by Congress, delayed to DHS for five years but they can't use the funds, because Biden just says so? Ridiculous.

The world was built without borders. There is no natural line dividing the United States from Mexico. Everyone has the right to choose where to live, save for if you have been convicted of a crime. Everyone has the right to flee a dangerous situation. There is no moral right to prevent people from South America from coming into the United States.

Something along these lines. Support fairer, more transparent paths to citizenship. Deporting a person back to the shit they fled from isn't an earnest effort to improve their livelihood.

Except for the Rio Grande and the two deserts that make up most of that border.

Throw in mountains and thats how most well established borders got drawn.

This option didn't work within the law. They waived dozens of laws to do it.
