Some reviewers said that the game doesnt get started after like 15 hours or some shit.

but no, i've had fun since the beginning. There's some shitty beth's style quest in the beginning which are fetch quests but that didnt take me 7 hours. I gained a few levels and left the first planet.

It was fun to me from the start. It takes maybe 10 minutes before you get into your first gun fight and can loot some more guns. That's the only part I would consider "slow"

I had fun right from the start...then I am gamer that makes up my own mind about a game instead of being a sheep to bitter and jaded youtubers.

Zero idea of where this "have to play x hours to get to the fun". came from. Just fucking absurd nonsense from clowns with a deep need to trash the game.

The start is very weak.

like compare it to other Bethesda games.

Fallout3: you get to see life in the vault and how everything goes to shit

fallout NV: you literally get shot in the head and youre left for dead. Only with clues of bennies whereabouts and a mystery of who you are

fallout 4: vault dweller and your child gets kidnapped while you go into cryosleep for YEARS

Skyrim: literally about to be executed and then a fucking dragon attacks the town and prolongs your life.

and then theres Starfield, youre a boring ass miner and your job gets attacked by a pathetic group of pirates that are easily dispatched. Then this guy asks you to run an errand. Very pathetic.

Unless you ignore the stuff about the artifact then sure that's the only part of the start.

and Fallout 3's start sucks except for the Tunnel Snakes.

I do think it starts slow, and I also think it is good for players to stick with the main quests longer than a standard Bethesda game to get the basics. There are a lot of systems in this game, and they take some time to click.

But once it clicks, it is great. I cant stop playing it. GOTY 2023 for me so far.

And then we get Spider-Man 2. Great time to love games!

That doesn't necessarily mean that the game takes 7 hours to be fun.

It does take awhile to get going though and that's definitely a weak intro but fun depends on the player. What do you identify as fun? If you're easy like me, going to a planet and scanning everything and gathering resources is my idea of fun. I had fun from the get go.

The game has a lot of flaws but its also has a lot of positives. It just depends on which you consider a flaw. The first few quests Sarah gives is a good start but I think a lot of people are let down by their own expectation. I was one of them. I'm having fun but my expectations weren't met.

I thought this would be different from Elder Scrolls and Fallout but it just feels a bit like Elder Scrolls with a different skin.

Compare NPCs from games like Baldur's Gate 3 and Witcher 3 to a game like this and you're fucked. The game feels bleak and bland compared to other rpgs. It feels like they made this game a decade ago with a few updates.

As someone who also enjoys scanning planets-if you go into the science tree and get the zoology and botany skills, it makes it so much faster. You probably already know this, but I am passing it along because I didnt realize this for a while. :)

That's such a stupid metric. Obviously people who play for 30+ hours will say they enjoy the game, that's the whole reason they played that much.

Imagine using survivorship bias to sell you game lmfao

People have figured out how to level up, how to use the mechanics and learned to follow the scripted quests. Some others also learn to accept the game isn't No Man's Sky.

LOL...

Oh yes...walking around in the vault doing useless tasks was so epically amazing!! So much more riveting than a shootout, a ship battle, and invading a pirate base at the start of Starfield.

This is how you know the person you are talking with just has a stupid bias against the game. Imagine using the Fallout 3 start as a positive for excitement.

You could just not recruit them. You can assign crew members to your ship or your outposts, but you can just add easily leave them unassigned or skip recruiting them altogether

Honestly, I gave up on it after a few hours because I felt it wasnt really explaining any of the mechanisms for the game very well, so I mostly ended up playing it as a straight forward FPS, which Im sure is not all its supposed to be.

Im never short on stuff to play so it doesnt bother me that much.
