If not for that poster, I wouldn't even know it was coming out. It was pretty much all jumpscares with a lot of lore thrown in about how the nun (valak) came to the world and ended with a conjuring 2 tie in. I'm thinking this movie will elaborate on that tie in more. I liked it. I don't really like horror though and jumpscares annoy me because a lot of the time it's just "let's make a real loud noise that DESTROYS ear drums, that's scary right?". You know what's scary? We evolved to be reactive to sudden abrasive sounds and threatening visual stimuli. Literally anything can have a jump scare inserted into it, like that classic Ghost Car Youtube vid. It takes no skill or imagination to make a good one over a bad one either. I'd say Ghost Car is the best one because it deconstructs the entire jump scare concept to show us how ridiculously simple it is to get a reaction using these tricks. --- Be careful: I was moderated for telling people not to commit illegal acts of assault and murder.
