Weapon balance is fucking GARBAGE and the bosses are, indeed, too easy with impact spam

dunkey plays games for a living so a lot of games are easy for him. also if you don't agree with dunkey you are uncultured

He's using an easy mode build, so he's not wrong. There isn't a lot of middle ground - you either get run over or totally nuke bosses.

I genuinely think the discussion on difficulty of this game is really interesting because I've seen for DAYS people say

• The game has insane difficulty especially in the bosses
• The game is too focused on melee compared to previous AC games
• You can't beat it as a shooter

And now I see this video and a bunch of people saying the *exact opposite*. I'll try it myself when I finish Baldur's Gate 3

He thinks the game in general is very easy and it's particularly trivialized by certain builds. He says the enemy design doesn't really demand changing your playstyle or respecting the enemies so you can zip around unchallenged and "play on auto pilot". He contrasts that with other recent FromSoft games where even weaker enemies demand some level of respect.

I'm like half sure Dunkey is being facetious and over blowing a minor gripe he has with the game while also pretending to be a Souls/Elden Ring elitist and saying it's better because it's what made From popular and not Armored Core. He's done stuff like this before like his Metroid Dread Review.

That and I think he finds it funny when he finds these 25 minute "take down" Youtube essays from dudes who can't even write scripts and just live ramble their stream of consciousness thoughts about a game they were hyped for.

ahh ok that makes sense to me. i dont see what's wrong with his opinion. i feel this way about dmc games tbh (and yes ive played dmd mode countless times i have over 1k hours on dmc 3) but i still like them regardless.

i didnt know ac6 offered a more free style of combat than the souls games. seems pretty neat but man i dont feel like buying another game atm w/ my backlog so ill just wait.

Dunkey is good comedy, albeit a bit biased towards his preferred genres. Hes usually quick to acknowledge his biases against stuff like turn based JRPGs and stuff.

Hes been through the Souls ringer (except BB? seems he has bad opinions there) so Id trust if he says a game like this from FS is too easy. Plus the general consensus is missions are a joke and the bosses are then hard mode.

whole point of armored core is you completely make your own robot and can even color it and draw stuff on it

it has tons of weapons and other stuff like legs. you have spider legs, grasshopper or even be a tank

Lmao gamefaqs is just so bitter you don't even have to have a be a controversial political figure for GameFAQs posters to hate you. Ive now seen people hate on Dunkey and Mr Beast

Dunkey's supported internet harassment and toxicity for most of his career, and his fanbase often reflects it. I don't really care whatever else reasons ppl use, I think this is reason enough to dismiss him entirely. I used to find him funny, but I'm not young anymore sadly, and he ain't either, but it doesn't stop him from acting like a little kid

I never tried this impact build or whatever, but honestly the balance in this game IS pretty bad. Regular shit is too easy to deal with, bosses are overtuned bullet hell without taking advantage of staggering, which also additionally increases your DPS. It's definitely a bit half-baked.

At the same time, one might have to think he had to resort to these builds and just fast clear cuz his job is to make reviews, as terrible as they are. It doesn't stop ppl from using non-abusive builds, but then the game gets pretty bullshit for all the wrong reasons

I wouldn't say so. He puts out whatever content he wants when he wants to. A month ago he made a new video about Uncharted 4 basically just re-reviewing it on a whim. IIRC he'd beaten Elden Ring 5 times with hundreds of hours before his serious video about the game.

I'm not giving Dunkey's video a view but for the most part, game seems easy so far once I realized to take advantage of stagger. Still fun though.

Yes, Armored Core VI is easier than the Soulsbornekiroring games, but it's also more fun. Go play Mars Matrix.

He still liked the game though. Anyways hes right, you can literally use a tank frame, use whatever gives you highest defense on core/head/arms, take double Gatling guns and then double ice worm needle for ur shoulders and face roll the game with no issue including the bosses.
