Uh oh. Now concern trolls and plague rats will accuse TC of celebrating deaths.

I think among most of the people who dismiss COVID, the common belief isn't that the virus literally doesn't exist but that catching the virus isn't "that bad" and it was being played up to let politicians enrich themselves and control more stuff (somehow).

Now obviously COVID-19 was absolutely devastating, especially for those who fall into the "at risk" categories, but it seems like the majority of the people who buy into these conspiracy theories aren't the nutjob "the vaccine magnetized my body!" kind of people. They're more of the "it's just the same as getting the flu" kind of people. I think that their more "toned down" type of conspiracy lets them use some mental gymnastics to rationalize it and think that their belief is a perfectly healthy and normal way to view things since it doesn't sound so "crazy" or whatever.

It's absolutely this. Living in Alabama, many people around here think of it as a completely non-serious disease that was blown out of proportion for political reasons. They recognize that people died from it but don't care because most of them got it and just had a cough for a few days.

My whole family has Covid right now, including my 5-month old son. Fortunately his pediatrician said he would have the mildest symptoms and she was right, he's almost completely over it 3 days later. I had the worst fucking headache I've ever had in my life for two days. It was like having my head in a vice. Haven't had any respiratory symptoms though really.

This is the first time my partner and I ever got it after all these years and we got it from a family member that traveled to visit. The pediatrician said she had treated no cases at all for months and now dozens in the week since school started.

That's what idiots themselves say about it when they're playing the victim over their cult being called out on their idiocy.

In reality, it's more of a board documenting fuck around and find out cases, but it's not appropriate to say that because it doesn't portray toxic and willfully ignorant people as akshully being victims of da gubmint, libruls, immigrants, or whatever.
